Tony Doyle (actor)
Michael Anthony Doyle (21 July 1935 – 28 January 2000) was an Irish television and film actor. He became widely known in Ireland as a then-radical priest in the popular Irish rural drama ''The Riordans'', which began in 1965. He worked consistently in series, television films, and feature films throughout his life. He died unexpectedly in 2000, at the time playing in another well-known Irish rural drama, ''Ballykissangel''. Acting career He first came to prominence playing a liberal Catholic priest - Father Sheehy - in RTÉ's iconic rural drama ''The Riordans''. He appeared in such popular shows as ''Coronation Street'', '' Between the Lines'', ''1990'', ''Children of the North'' and ''Ballykissangel'', and won an Irish Film and Television Academy Award for best leading performance for his role in the 1998 miniseries ''Amongst Women''. Ballyfarnan
Ballyfarnon (historically ''Bellafernan'', from ) is a village in northern County Roscommon, Ireland. Built on the River Feorish at the foot of Arigna Mountain, it lies between Loughs Skean and Meelagh with Lough Arrow, Lough Allen, Lough Bo and Lough-na-Sool nearby. It lies on the Sligo/Leitrim R284 regional road on the border with County Sligo. The first church at Kilronan, Keadue, County Roscommon, was built in the 8th century by St. Ronan and his daughter St. Lasair. It was replaced in 1339 by one built by Fergal O'Duigenan which was burned down in 1340 and replaced three years later by the church, one gable of which stands today. Sheltered by that gable is the vault of the McDermott Roes, in which Turlough O'Carolan was interred in 1738. Susannah Doyle
Susannah Doyle (born 5 July 1966) is an English actress, best known for her roles as Joy Merryweather in ''Drop The Dead Donkey'' and as Avril Burke in ''Ballykissangel''. The daughter of the Irish actor Tony Doyle, she realised that she wished to follow in his footsteps when, aged about five or six, she was taken to see him work, often in tiny theatres with audience and actors close together. She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Her big TV break came in 1991 with the role of Joy, the intelligent, acid-tongued secretary and foil to her corporate-speak boss, in the Channel 4 comedy ''Drop The Dead Donkey''.
