Tony Bartl
Antonin Karel Bartl or Tony Bartl (1912–23 December 1998) was a Czech artist who in 1947 came to Britain and established himself as an artist, through his connections with Dr Richard Weck, his brother in law, who became Director of The Welding Institute. In 1948 he joined the staff of Lincoln College of Art. In 1972 he arranged a major exhibition at the Usher Gallery, Lincoln of the works of John Piper and his artwork and mosaics were widely used to decorate a number of public buildings and on these projects he worked closely with the Lincoln architect Sam Scorer. Early life Antonin Bartl was born in 1912, in Cheb in the western part of Bohemia which was predominantly German speaking. His father was a bespoke tailor and was like many in the area, to become a Nazi supporter. His mother was artistic, a painter, who designed and embroidered her own clothes. Czech Republic

Hagenbund
The Hagenbund or Künstlerbund Hagen was a group of Austrian artists that formed in 1899. The group's name derived from the name Herr Hagen, the proprietor of an inn in Vienna which they frequented. Early history The group's most prominent members early on were Heinrich Lefler and Joseph Urban, who had originally worked and exhibited within the conservative Vienna Künstlerhaus, but now, like the Vienna Secession, rebelled against the establishment and formed their own organization. The Hagenbund operated for almost a decade in the shadow of the popular and successful Secession, and only in the years that followed the damaging resignation of the Klimt Group from the Secession did its members succeed in developing a more moderate, independent line, in which atmosphere played a major role. ''Modern Painters'' (1843–1860) is a five-volume work by the Victorian art critic, John Ruskin, begun when he was 24 years old based on material collected in Switzerland in 1842. Ruskin argues that recent painters emerging from the tradition of the picturesque are superior in the art of landscape to the old masters. The book was primarily written as a defense of the later work of J. M. W. Turner. Ruskin used the book to argue that art should devote itself to the accurate documentation of nature. In Ruskin's view, Turner had developed from early detailed documentation of nature to a later more profound insight into natural forces and atmospheric effects. Richard Thomas And Baldwins
Richard Thomas and Baldwins Ltd (RTB) was a major iron, steel and tinplate producer, primarily based in Wales and formed in 1948 by the merger of Richard Thomas & Co Ltd with Baldwins Ltd. It was absorbed into British Steel Corporation in 1967. The business now forms part of Corus, a subsidiary of Tata Steel. Richard Thomas & Co Richard Thomas & Co Ltd was an iron, steel and tinplate producer and colliery proprietor. The founder, Richard Thomas (died 1916), leased two tinplate works in Gloucestershire: Lydbrook in 1871 and Lydney in 1876. He went on to acquire local collieries and, in 1888, the Melingriffith Tin Plate Works near Cardiff. Richard Thomas & Co, in which Thomas was succeeded as managing director by his son, Richard Beaumont Thomas, in 1888, became one of the principal tinplate manufacturers in the UK. Holton cum Beckering is a small village and civil parish in West Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England. It is situated south from Market Rasen at the junction of the B1202 and B1399 roads.
