Tonsley
Tonsley is a southern suburb of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. History The suburb of Tonsley was created on 27 January 2017 by dividing the suburb of Clovelly Park in half. The southern part of the suburb was separated from Clovelly Park and named Tonsley at that time. Named after England's Tonsley Hall, it includes the former vehicle assembly plant, which was often called ''Tonsley Park''. Tonsley Railway Station
Tonsley railway station is located on the Flinders line in the south-western Adelaide suburb of Tonsley, 12.2 kilometres from Adelaide station. The original station was 13 kilometres from Adelaide, and was the terminus of the line from its opening in 1966 until the station's closure in 2019; the station was then relocated to its current position and opened in 2020. History The original station opened on 1 July 1966 when the Tonsley line opened. Trains operated between 07:00 and 19:00 on weekdays, with no weekend services. Clovelly Park, South Australia
Clovelly Park is an inner southern suburb of Adelaide in the local government area of the City of Marion. Before becoming an 'advanced' suburb, it was a farm and vineyard. The suburb is bordered by Daws Road to the north, South Road to the east, Sturt Road to the south, and a combination of Percy Avenue and the Flinders railway line to the west. It is situated approximately 20 minutes from the Adelaide city centre, and about 2 minutes from Flinders University, Flinders Medical Centre and Westfield Marion. St Marys is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, located to the south of the Central Business District. Bedford Park, South Australia
Bedford Park is a southern suburb of Adelaide in South Australia. The Hancock family established a homestead and farm at the foot of the Adelaide Hills in the mid 19th century. A family name from an earlier generation lent its name to the property of ''Bedford'' which was later changed to ''Bedford Park''. In 1917, of the property was purchased by the South Australian Government and a tuberculosis sanatorium was built. Initially housing World War I soldiers the sanatorium was expanded until, by 1924, it had 74 beds and was a self-supporting farm with pigs, chickens, orchards and grain production. The sanatorium was demolished and Flinders University built in its place in the 1960s.
