Toni Lang
Toni Lang (born April 22, 1982 in Hutthurm) is a German former biathlete. In 2008, he ran his first single World Cup Race. After Biathlon World Cup 2010/2011 he retired from active biathlon sports and started studying dentistry. He is the husband of biathlete Kathrin Hitzer. Biathlon
The biathlon is a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. Michael Greis
Michael Greis (; born 18 August 1976) is a former Germans, German Biathlon, biathlete. Career Greis first competed at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, finishing 15th and 16th in the 10 km sprint and 12.5 km pursuit events in the biathlon. Greis won the World Cup in the individual category in 2004/05, and was a member of the winning 4 × 7.5 km relay team in the 2004 Biathlon World Championships, and took silver in the individual 20 km category at the 2005 World Championships. Ruhpolding
Ruhpolding is the municipality with the biggest area of the Traunstein district in southeastern Bavaria, Germany. It is situated in the south of the Chiemgau region in the Alps and next to the Austrian border. Ruhpolding has a biathlon track. It hosted the 1979, 1985, 1996 and 2012 Biathlon World Championships. Arnd Peiffer (born 18 March 1987) is a German former biathlete. His greatest achievements were sprint victories in the 2018 Winter Olympics and the Biathlon World Championships 2011. During his career, he also won three World Championship relay golds as well as several other Olympic and World Championship medals. Peiffer announced his retirement in March 2021. Michael Rösch
Michael Rösch (born 4 May 1983) is a German and Belgian (since 2014) former biathlete. Life and career He is the son of the former biathlete Eberhard Rösch. He was junior world champion four times, three times in the relay and once in the sprint distance in 2003. On 16 December 2005 Rösch took his first official world cup podium with a second in the 10 km sprint, and on 15 January 2006 he won his first world cup victory in Ruhpolding when he beat Raphaël Poirée. In 2006, he won an Olympic gold medal with the German team in the relay. In addition, Rösch finished fifth in the overall standings in the 2005–06 Biathlon World Cup. He also took three World Championship bronze medals in relays and two race wins in the Biathlon World Cup. However, in subsequent years Rösch suffered a dip in form, which led to him not being selected for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Oberhof is a town in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district of Thuringia, Germany. Located in the Thuringian Forest mountain range, it is a winter sports center and health resort.
