Arthur Tomson
Arthur Tomson (5 March 1859 – 14 June 1905) was an English painter. Biography Tomson was born at Chelmsford, Essex, on 5 March 1859. He was the sixth child of Whitbread Tomson by his wife Elizabeth Maria. From a preparatory school at Ingatestone in Essex he went to Uppingham. As a lad he developed an interest in art, and on leaving school he enrolled in a course in Düsseldorf. Returning to England in 1882. he settled down to landscape painting, working chiefly in Sussex and Dorset. His landscapes were poetic, and rather similar in sentiment to the art of George Mason and Edward Stott. Although he was at his best in landscape, cats were favourite subjects of study, and he occasionally painted other animals. At the New English Art Club, of which he was an early member and in whose affairs he took warm interest, he was a regular exhibitor, but he also showed at the Royal Academy from 1883 to 1892 and at the New Gallery. Christopher William Tomson (born March 6, 1984) is an American singer, songwriter and musician, best known as the drummer for New York-based indie rock band Vampire Weekend. He is also the lead vocalist and guitarist for a side project called Dams of the West, for which he writes and records the entirety of its music. Laurence Tomson
Laurence Tomson (1539 – 29 March 1608) was an English politician, author, and translator. He acted as the personal secretary of Sir Francis Walsingham, the secretary of state to Elizabeth I of England. Tomson revised both the text and the annotations of the New Testament of the Geneva Bible. His revised edition appeared in 1576. Tomson was a Calvinism, Calvinist, and his annotations reflect that system of theology. Life He was born in Northamptonshire, and was admitted a Demyship, demy of Magdalen College, Oxford, in 1553. He graduated B.A. in 1559, was elected a fellow of his college, and commenced M.A. in 1564. He accompanied Sir Thomas Hoby on his embassy to France in 1566; and in 1569 he resigned his fellowship. Priit Tomson (November 3, 1942, Tallinn, 193 cm) is a retired Estonian professional basketball player, who competed for the Soviet Union. He is the only Estonian basketball player who has won two gold medals at the World Championship. Tomson is a three-time Eurobasket champion with the Soviet Union national basketball team. He was a member of the youth and student teams of the Soviet Union in 1963–65 and the senior team in 1966–74 as a small forward. Shaun Tomson (born 21 August 1955) is a South African professional surfer and former world champion, environmentalist, actor, author, and businessman. Tomson Highway (born 6 December 1951) is an Indigenous Canadian playwright, novelist, and children's author. He is best known for his plays ''The Rez Sisters'' and ''Dry Lips Oughta Move to Kapuskasing'', both of which won the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Play and the Floyd S. Chalmers Award.
