Freedom – No Compromise
''Freedom – No Compromise'' is the third solo studio album by Little Steven, released in May 1987 by EMI. Following on the moderate success of Artists United Against Apartheid's " Sun City" in 1985, Steven Van Zandt's next record was a full-on dance-rock record, verging in places on world music. Bruce Springsteen and Rubén Blades join Van Zandt on lead vocals on "Native American" and "Bitter Fruit", respectively. Politics were even more at the forefront than before, centering on U.S. transgressions in Central America, South Africa, and against Native Americans. By this time, the old Disciples of Soul band had almost completely disappeared. In 2019, the album was remastered for release as part of Van Zandt's career-spanning box set '' Rock N Roll Rebel: The Early Work''. The digital deluxe edition of the album was released on November 29, 2019 containing five bonus tracks, along with the reissued ''Bitter Fruit'' bonus EP. Come As You Are (album)
''Come As You Are'' is the second solo album by Peter Wolf, released in 1987 (see 1987 in music). "Come As You Are" was a major hit for Wolf, peaking at #15 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for one week. The music video for "Come As You Are" is based on Bobby Van's memorable "street dance" from '' Small Town Girl''. In the video, Peter Wolf hops around a 1950s small town similar to the one in the movie, and he passes a poster for ''Small Town Girl'' as a direct reference to the inspiration for the video. Track listing #"Can't Get Started" (Peter Wolf) – 3:01 #"Love on Ice" (Wolf, Tim Mayer) – 4:12 #"Thick as Thieves" (Wolf, Tim Mayer) – 2:59 #"Blue Avenue" (Wolf, Tim Mayer, Barry Goldberg) – 4:06 #"Wind Me Up" (Wolf) – 2:49 #"Come as You Are" (Wolf, Tim Mayer) – 2:43 #"Flame of Love" (Wolf) – 4:16 #"Mamma Said" (Wolf, Michael Jonzun) – 4:04 #"Magic Moon" (Wolf) – 3:39 #"2 Lane" (Wolf) – 3:23 #"Run Silent Run Deep" (Wolf, ...

Here Comes The Night (David Johansen Album)
''Here Comes the Night'' is the third solo album for New York Dolls lead singer David Johansen. Released in 1981, Blondie Chaplin (from Beach Boys fame) serves as the producer for the album (for Blondie Chaplin's writing contributions, his middle name William is used and he is listed as "Bill Chaplin"). Although Chaplin was a former Beach Boys member, the album and title song, "Here Comes the Night", does not have any relationship to the Beach Boys song, "Here Comes the Night". The album marks the first time Johansen recorded an album without a significant contribution of his fellow-New York Dolls bandmate, Sylvain Sylvain (with the exception of co-writing one song, Sylvain does not appear on the album). Johansen also recruited the third-in-a-row producer for ''Here Comes the Night'' in an attempt to identify a unique sound, rather than a continual evolution of the New York Dolls sound. The tracks on the album have more of a contemporary beat, which would continue to be develo ...

In Style (David Johansen Album)
''In Style'' is the second solo album released by (then-)former lead singer of the New York Dolls, David Johansen. It was released in 1979 on Blue Sky Records. Background Johansen's self-titled solo debut earned favorable reviews but low sales. Consequently, ''In Style'' – featuring more pop-style songs such as "Melody" and "Swaheto Woman" – was designed to be more commercial. "Swaheto Woman", released as a single, provided Johansen's first disco song. "Swaheto Woman" and three other tracks were cowritten by Johansen's friend and fellow New York Doll, Sylvain Sylvain. “She Knew She was Falling in Love” and “Wreckless Crazy” had both been performed by the Dolls after the departures of Thunders, Nolan and Kane. ''In Style'' also features Ian Hunter and Dan Hartman. Of the closing "Flamingo Road", Johnny Depp remarked: "I think it's about his experience of losing his wife to Steven Tyler, and the words are beautifully written, beautifully execuited. The whole record ...

7800° Fahrenheit
''7800° Fahrenheit'' is the second studio album by American rock band Bon Jovi. It was released on March 27, 1985, through Mercury Records. The album's title is a reference to the supposed melting point of rock, which is equivalent to 4313° Celsius. In the United States, the Fahrenheit scale is in general use, suggesting the album consists of "American hot rock". The album's artwork introduced the classic 1980s Bon Jovi logo that would later be used on ''Slippery When Wet'' and ''New Jersey''. ''7800° Fahrenheit'' spent 104 weeks on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 19, 1987. The singles "Only Lonely" and " In and Out of Love" both charted on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Background Recorded in six weeks between January and March 1985, at the Warehouse Studios in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the album marked the final collaboration between Bon Jovi and producer Lance Quinn. Combat Rock
''Combat Rock'' is the fifth studio album by the English rock band the Clash. It was released on 14 May 1982 through CBS Records. In the United Kingdom, the album charted at number 2, spending 23 weeks in the UK charts and peaked at number 7 in the United States, spending 61 weeks on the chart. The album was propelled by Topper Headon's "Rock the Casbah" which became a staple in the newly launched MTV. ''Combat Rock'' continued the influence of funk and reggae like the previous albums, but also featured a more radio friendly sound which alienated some Clash fans. The recording and producing process of the album was tiring and full of infighting between Mick Jones and Joe Strummer. Headon's heroin addiction grew worse and he slowly became distant from the band. The band had disagreed on the creative process of the album and called in Glyn Johns to produce the more radio friendly sound of ''Combat Rock.'' ''Combat Rock'' is the group's best-selling album, being certified double p ...

Yui Orta
''YUI Orta'' is the seventh solo studio album by English singer Ian Hunter (singer), Ian Hunter. The title is a play on the phrase "Why you, I ought to...". Hunter reunites again with longtime collaborator Mick Ronson, as The Hunter Ronson Band. It was intended as a sort of comeback for both men, but the record company did little promotion and eventually they were dropped from the label. There were plans for a follow up, but these were put on hold when Ronson was diagnosed with liver cancer. In "Big Time", Hunter borrows the riff from his own song "Once Bitten Twice Shy". In "Tell It Like It Is" Ronson borrows the riff from "Get It On (T. Rex song), Get It On". In 2003, the album was reissued with two bonus tracks. Track listing All songs written by Ian Hunter except where noted #"American Music" – 4:12 #"The Loner" – 4:47 #"Women's Intuition" (Hunter, Ronson) – 6:31 #"Tell It Like It Is" (Hunter, Ronson) – 4:23 #"Livin' in a Heart" – 4:34 ...

All Of The Good Ones Are Taken
''All of the Good Ones Are Taken'' is the sixth solo studio album of Ian Hunter. The album contains a mix of several styles. Longtime collaborator Mick Ronson was mostly absent (he only played guitar on one track), because he was seriously considering quitting the music business. In 2007, the album was reissued with a single bonus track. In a recent biography Ian Hunter explained that the song "Death 'n' Glory Boys" was inspired by the then-current Falklands war. Also, "Somethin's Goin' On" reflects Hunter's reaction to the Nuclear arms race. "Speechless" was later covered by Status Quo. "Every Step of the Way" was also later covered by The Monkees on their reunion album '' Pool It''. Track listing All songs written by Ian Hunter except where noted # "All of the Good Ones Are Taken" (fast version) – 3:42 # "Every Step of the Way" (Hunter, Mark Clarke) – 3:55 # "Fun" (Hunter, Mark Clarke, Hilly Michaels) – 4:21 # "Speechless" – 3:49 # "Death 'n' Glory Boys" – 5:5 ...

Short Back 'n' Sides
''Short Back 'n' Sides'' is the fifth studio album by Ian Hunter. Unsure of which direction he should take, Ian Hunter finally decided to collaborate with Mick Jones, who gave Hunter's songs a tougher and heavier touch. Fellow Clash member Topper Headon as well as Mick Ronson, Todd Rundgren and Ellen Foley also appeared on this album. In 1995, Chrysalis released a 2 CD set with a remastered version of the album and bonus CD with outtakes of the Chrysalis period. The track "Noises" is an experimental track with many samples used as part of the song and "Theatre of the Absurd" is Ian's only reggae song, inspired by the Ladbroke Grove area of London. Track listing All songs written by Ian Hunter; except where indicated #"Central Park n' West" – 4:00 #"Lisa Likes Rock n' Roll" – 3:56 #"I Need Your Love" – 3:34 #"Old Records Never Die" – 4:18 #"Noises" (Ian Hunter, Tommy Morrongiello) – 5:51 #"Rain" – 5:54 #"Gun Control" – 3:12 #"Theatre of the Absurd" – 5:49 ...
