Thomas Jones (born August 3, 1979) is a professional gridiron football quarterback who is currently a free agent. After a standout prep career at Eaton High School where he played football, basketball and baseball, Jones continued his football career at Indiana University. After taking a red-shirt his freshman year, Jones split first team practice reps with Antwaan Randle El. Head Coach Cam Cameron ultimately decided on Randle-El, and Jones appeared in just 3 games as a red-shirt freshman. During his sophomore season, there was once again training camp talk of Jones starting over Randle-El, and once again Jones was named the backup, playing 6 games. His junior season, he was named the starting quarterback and Randle-El moved to wide receiver. Jones completed 18 of 31 passes and had one touchdown, but was benched the following week as the offense didn't take off as well had Cameron had hoped. Thomas Michael Jones (October 13, 1954 – January 15, 2009) was an American professional baseball player who later served as a coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB) in 2004. He was also a manager in Minor League Baseball for 13 seasons. As a player, Jones was listed at and ; he batted and threw right-handed. Biography Jones was born in Stockton, California, and played college baseball for the Pacific Tigers baseball team. Jones played in minor league baseball from 1976 through 1981. His first five seasons were spent in Class A and Class A Short Season leagues. In his final season, he played in Triple-A for the Phoenix Giants of the Pacific Coast League (PCL). Overall, Jones appeared in 223 games in six seasons, batting .258 with eight home runs and 92 RBIs. He made 125 appearances as an outfielder, while also making appearances at every infield position. Tommy Jones (born November 2, 1978) is an American professional bowler currently competing on the PBA Tour (Professional Bowlers Association), and is a member of the PBA Hall of Fame. He is also an 11-time member of Team USA. Jones, who is right-handed, has been one of the most competitive pros on the PBA Tour since 2004. He is one of only 16 players in PBA history to win at least 20 PBA Tour titles, and has won over $1.8 million in PBA prize money during his 19 full seasons on tour, including over $300,000 in the 2005–06 season alone. Jones won the PBA Rookie of the Year Award for the 2001–02 season, and the PBA Player of the Year Award following the 2005–06 season. Thomas William Jones (23 March 1907 – 24 June 1980) was an English professional footballer. He spent five years at Blackpool in the 1930s, making over 150 Football League appearances for the club. Thomas John Jones (born 6 December 1909; date of death unknown) was a Welsh footballer. Although he began his career in Wales, he is best known for the time he spent as a player in the English Football League. Career Club career Born in Tonypandy, Rhondda, Jones began his football career with Mid Rhondda, before joining Tranmere Rovers of the Football League Third Division North in 1926. When the Tranmere manager, Bert Cooke, went to sign Jones, he was told by his father: "Yes, my boy can play football but he can fight, too. Whenever anyone is in trouble, off comes his coat and up come his sleeves." Despite his father's claims, Jones was in reality a fairly mild player but it took some time for him to live the story down. Thomas Edwin Jones (11 April 1930 – 5 June 2010), known as Tommy E Jones or T. E. Jones to distinguish him from T. G. Jones, was an English footballer who played for Everton from 1950 until 1961. Jones signed for Everton straight from school and turned professional in 1948. He began his Everton career as a full back, but moved to centre half to replace T. G. Jones in the 1950–51 season, making his debut against Arsenal on 6 September 1950. Jones established himself as a "model of consistency", a "most reliable and unruffled" defender, and in 1957 he took over the Goodison captaincy, succeeding Peter Farrell who had left the club. He returned to left-back towards the end of his career, replaced at centre-half by a young Brian Labone.
