Tommaso Ragno is an Italian stage and film actor. Biography Early life and education Tommaso Ragno was born on 1 June 1967 in Vieste, a coastal town in the province of Foggia, as the eldest of two children. His family, mainly from Apulia and on the grand-maternal side from ex-Yugoslavia, moved to Piacenza when he was two years old. Always having been very introverted, he spent a lot of time in solitude reading books and studying literature, planning on becoming a writer. However, later he went on to study acting at the Paolo Grassi School of Dramatic Art in Milan. After having spent a part of his life living in Berlin, Ragno currently resides in Rome, where he has also spent the pandemic lockdown. Vieste
Vieste (; nap, label= Viestano, Vìst) is a town, ''comune'' and former Catholic bishopric in the province of Foggia, in the Apulia region of southeast Italy. A marine resort in Gargano, Vieste has received Blue Flags for the purity of its waters from the Foundation for Environmental Education. The area covered by the comune is included in the Gargano National Park. History In medieval times, the port was frequently attacked by pirates, Saracens and other enemies of the Kingdom of Naples. In 1554 approximately 7,000 inhabitants were enslaved by the Turks. Those deemed too elderly or infirm for slavery were executed. This event is commemorated in an annual ceremony. Paolo Virzì (; born 4 March 1964) is an Italian film director, writer and producer. Early life and work Virzì was born in Livorno, Italy in 1964, as the son of a Sicily#Demographics, Sicilian police officer in the Carabinieri and a former singer. After spending his early childhood in Turin in the north of Italy, Virzì's family moved back to Livorno where he grew up in the working class area of "Le Sorgenti". As a small boy, he started to cultivate his lifelong passion for literature: Mark Twain and Charles Dickens were among his favourite authors and their classic "coming of age" novels would later serve as a model for his screenplays. Alice Rohrwacher (, ; born 29 December 1980) is an Italian film director, editor and screenwriter. Her film '' Le pupille'' was nominated for Oscar in 2023 in short film categories.
