Tom And Jerry (guitarists)
Tom and Jerry was a guitar duo of the early 1960s in the United States, consisting of Tommy Tomlinson and Jerry Kennedy. They recorded instrumentals on the Mercury Records label. Their best known single was "Golden Wildwood Flower" in 1961. Jerry Kennedy

New York: Oxford University Press. pp. 277–278. is an American record producer, songwriter and guitar player. Early years Kennedy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. As a child, he recalls "beating on broomsticks and other things" as his initial forays into music-making. His first guitar was a Silvertone, which his parents bought for him when he was "eight or nine." He began taking lessons from a local guitar legend, Tillman Franks. Kennedy attended various shows around the Shreveport area as a boy, including the legendary ''Louisiana Hayride''. One show he particularly remembers attending is Hank Williams's last show at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium saying, "I was a kid sittin' on the front row." In 1954, Elvis Presley performed on ''Louisiana Hayride'', and Kennedy was in attendance with a friend. He recalls their frustration with th ... Mercury Records
Mercury Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group. It had significant success as an independent operation in the 1940s and 1950s. Smash Records and Fontana Records were sub labels of Mercury. In the United States, it is operated through Republic Records; in the United Kingdom and Japan (as Mercury Tokyo in the latter country), it is distributed by EMI Records. Since the separation of Island Records, Motown, Mercury Records, and Def Jam Recordings combining the Island Def Jam Music Group, Mercury Records has been placed under Island Records, although its back catalogue is still owned by the Island Def Jam Music Group (now Island Records). Background Mercury Records was started in Chicago in 1945 and over several decades, saw great success.
