Tom X. Chao
Tom X. Chao is a comedic playwright, actor, and musician based in New York City whose works have been produced in the United States and Canada. Chao regularly stars in his own work, usually playing an unflattering autobiographical character named "Tom." During the 1990s, Chao was a member of New York City's Art Stars alternative performance scene, and '' The New York Times'' called him "a dryly funny downtown comedian," and '' Time Out New York'' labeled him a "hilariously angsty writer-performer." He is best known for his play ''Cats Can See the Devil'', which appears in ''Plays and Playwrights 2004''. Dixon Place is a theater organization in New York City dedicated to the development of works-in-progress from a broad range of performers and artists. Rosalie Purvis
Rosalie Purvis (born 1975) is a Dutch-American theatre director and choreographer. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in literature and dance from Bard College, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in directing from Brooklyn College, and is studying toward a Doctor of Philosophy in performing and media arts at Cornell University. Much of her stagecraft was associated with the prestigious Duke Romijn Theatre in Amsterdam. She also co-wrote the best-selling Dutch children's book, ''Jana’s nachtreis'', with Ceseli Josephus Jitta. The Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival is an alternative theatre festival held each year for twelve days in July in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. History Founded in 1988 by the Manitoba Theatre Centre with Larry Desrochers as the first Executive Producer, the festival has three key principles: 1. Festival is non-juried; 2. Artists have freedom to present whatever they want on stage; and 3. 100% of the box office goes directly to the artists. The Edmonton International Fringe Festival is an annual arts festival held every August in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Produced by the Fringe Theatre Adventures (FTA), it is the oldest and largest fringe theatre festival in North America (based on ticket sales).
