Tom Spillane
Tom Spillane (born 1962) was a Gaelic footballer who played for Templenoe and the Kerry county team in the 1980s. Career Maura Spillane gave birth to Tom in Templenoe, near Kenmare, County Kerry in 1962. He was — along with his brothers Pat and Mick — a key member of the successful Kerry Gaelic football teams of the 1980s. He won an All-Ireland Minor Football Championship medal in 1980 before first breaking into the county panel in 1981. He played with Kerry for the next eleven seasons, winning four All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals, five Munster Senior Football Championship medals, one Kerry Senior Football Championship and three All Stars. Himself and Ger Lynch — assigned to mark Tommy Conroy and Barney Rock during the 1984 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final — began their efforts during the national anthem, which they sang with aplomb. Seán Kelly (Irish Politician)
Seán Kelly (born 26 April 1952) is an Irish politician who has been a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Republic of Ireland, Ireland for the South (European Parliament constituency), South constituency since July 2009. He is a member of Fine Gael, part of the European People's Party. He served as the 34th President of the Gaelic Athletic Association from 2003 to 2006. He was the first person from County Kerry to hold the office, being elected at his first attempt by a record margin at the GAA Congress in 2002. In July 2006, he took up the position of Executive Chairman of the Irish Institute of Sport, a body that was set up in Republic of Ireland, Ireland to support elite athletes and players, and served as Executive President until he announced his resignation in July 2008. Ger Lynch (born 10 December 1958) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played as a wing back at senior level for the Kerry county team. Lynch made his first appearance for the team during the 1982 championship and became a regular player over subsequent seasons until his retirement in 1989. During that time he won three All-Ireland winners' medals, three Munster winners' medals, one National Football League winners' medal and one All-Star award. Killian Spillane is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Templenoe club and the Kerry county team. Killian Spillane is the son of Tom. His uncles Mick and Pat also played for Kerry, as has his brother Adrian. Inter-county Minor Spillane first played for Kerry in the 2013 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship. He won a Munster Minor Football Championship after beating Tipperary in the final. His side later lost out to Tyrone in the All-Ireland semi-final.
