Tom Petersson
Thomas John Peterson, better known as Tom Petersson, is an American musician who is best known for being the bass guitar player for the rock band Cheap Trick. Career Before joining Cheap Trick, Petersson played in a number of bands, including the Bol Weevils, the Grim Reapers, Sick Man of Europe, and Fuse. He started out playing electric guitar, but soon switched to bass. His professional career has been closely entwined with Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen since the Grim Reapers in 1967, and the two co-founded Cheap Trick in 1974. During Cheap Trick's classic period, Petersson started playing the 12 string bass guitar, an instrument he conceived and developed in collaboration with luthiers at Hamer Guitars. Petersson left Cheap Trick in August 1980, shortly before the release of the album ''All Shook Up''. Bill Lloyd (country Musician)
John William Lloyd (born December 6, 1955), known professionally as Bill Lloyd, is an American country music singer-songwriter. From 1987 to 1991, he was one-half of the duo Foster & Lloyd, and a member of The Sky Kings from then until 1997. Foster & Lloyd John William Lloyd was born in Fort Hood, Texas. Due to his father being a member of the military, he moved across the United States frequently as a child. By the early 1980s, Lloyd was living in Tennessee and briefly attended Western Kentucky University before dropping out to pursue a career in music. In 1987, Lloyd joined Radney Foster to form the country duo Foster & Lloyd. They recorded for RCA Records Nashville from then until 1987, charting nine singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts. The Gibson Thunderbird is an electric bass guitar made by Gibson and Epiphone. Background and introduction The Gibson Thunderbird was introduced in 1963. At the time, Fender had been the leader in the electric bass market since their introduction of the Precision Bass twelve years earlier. The Thunderbird was designed by U.S. auto designer Raymond H. Dietrich (Chrysler, Lincoln, Checker) along with the Firebird guitar, which it resembles in design, construction, and name. Design and construction The Thunderbird bass, like the Rickenbacker 4000 series and the Firebird guitar designed concurrently, has neck-through construction: the neck wood runs the entire length of the body, with the rest of the body glued into place. "Something to Believe In" is a song that was originally released as a single called the "Sire Single Version", and then re-recorded as a song on the Ramones album ''Animal Boy'' released in May 1986. There are also live video versions of the song. It was written by Dee Dee Ramone and Jean Beauvoir. The "Sire Single Version" was re-released as track 14 of the second disk of the Ramones Anthology. The song was re-released in 2005 by Rhino/Warner Bros, on the album ''Weird Tales of the Ramones''. The song is more gentle sounding than most Ramones songs, particularly the cover by The Pretenders, which was produced by Johnny Ramone and is sung at an extremely slow tempo for a Ramones song. The Ramones
The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. They are often cited as the first true punk rock group. Despite achieving a limited commercial appeal in the United States during their time together, the band saw more success in England and Brazil, and are today seen as highly influential. All of the band members adopted pseudonyms ending with the surname "Ramone", although none of them were biologically related; they were inspired by Paul McCartney, who would check into hotels as "Paul Ramon". The Mavericks
The Mavericks are an American country music band from Miami, Florida. The band consists of Raul Malo (lead vocals, guitar), Paul Deakin (drums), Eddie Perez (lead guitar), and Jerry Dale McFadden (keyboards). Malo and Deakin founded the band in 1989 along with Robert Reynolds (bass guitar) and Ben Peeler (lead guitar). After one independent album, the band was signed by MCA Nashville Records and David Lee Holt replaced Peeler on lead guitar; he would be replaced by Nick Kane shortly after their second MCA album and third overall 1994's '' What a Crying Shame''. The band recorded a total of four albums for MCA and one for Mercury Records before disbanding in 2000.
