Tom Morrow (footballer)
Thomas Morrow (8 October 1923 – 18 June 2002) was an Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Prior to playing with Geelong, Morrow served in the Australian Army during World War II. The North Geelong Football Netball Club Inc is an Australian rules football and netball club located in Geelong. History The club was established in 1876, and is currently in the Geelong & District Football League. The club's colours are black and white, with a magpie as their logo. Their home shorts are black with black socks. They have won a total of 17 senior premierships, 11 reserves premierships and 7 U18s premierships. Their home ground is Osborne Park in Swinbourne Street, North Geelong. The Geelong & District Football League (GDFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball league in Victoria (Australia), Victoria, being the oldest surviving competition in the region. It is one of three leagues in the Geelong area, the others being the Geelong Football League, Geelong FNL and the Bellarine Football League, Bellarine FNL. Punt Road Oval, also known by naming rights sponsorship as the Swinburne Centre, is an Australian rules football ground and former cricket oval located within the Yarra Park precinct of East Melbourne, Victoria, situated a few hundred metres to the east of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. The 1951 VFL season was the 55th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured twelve clubs, ran from 21 April until 29 September, and comprised an 18-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Geelong Football Club for the fourth time, after it defeated by eleven points in the 1951 VFL Grand Final.
