Tom Kalmaku
Thomas "Pieface" Kalmaku is a fictional character, a supporting character associated with Green Lantern in comic books published by DC Comics. He was created by writer John Broome and penciler Gil Kane. Fictional character biography Thomas Kalmaku was introduced in ''Green Lantern'' vol. 2, #2 (Oct. 1960) as a young Inuk mechanic at Ferris Aircraft, also the employer of test pilot Hal Jordan. In the Silver Age he was referred to as Pieface; however, this has not been used for some time. As one journalist described: In his early appearances, Kalmaku had a girlfriend named Terga. They later married, but have since separated. Kalmaku was one of the few people who knew Jordan's secret and kept a journal of Green Lantern's adventures, which he later published as a biography of Jordan. Green Lantern (film)
''Green Lantern'' is a 2011 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, and Tim Robbins, with Martin Campbell directing a script by Greg Berlanti and comic book writers Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, which was subsequently rewritten by Michael Goldenberg. ''Green Lantern'' is an ongoing American comic-book series featuring the DC Comics heroes of the Green Lantern, same name. The character's first incarnation, Alan Scott, appeared in ''All-American Comics'' #16 (July 1940), and was later spun off into the first volume of ''Green Lantern'' in 1941. After 38 issues, that series was cancelled in 1949. When the Silver Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, was introduced, the character starred in a new volume of ''Green Lantern'' starting in 1960. Daniel Acuña (born 1974) is a Spanish comic book artist. Early life In college, Daniel Acuña studied painting and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. He cites his early influences as Jack Kirby, the Romitas ( Senior and Junior), Will Eisner, Simon Bisley, Kevin Nowlan, Hal Foster, and his favorite, Richard Corben, along with fine artists such as Edward Hopper, and Alfons Mucha, as well as illustrator Drew Struzan. Career His first published work was a 22-page black and white project, ''Claus & Simon in Hollywood'', with fellow artist Santi Arcas, which was bought by Spanish publisher La Cupula when Acuña was 22.
