Tom Hackett
Tom Hackett (born 10 May 1992) is an Australian former professional American football punter. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Jets in 2016. He played college football for the Utah Utes. Hackett won the Ray Guy Award in 2014 and 2015. Professional career Hackett signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets on 1 May 2016. He was waived on 28 July 2016 after the team re-signed quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. After being waived by the Jets, Hackett began co-hosting a sports radio show on KALL in Salt Lake City. Hackett was drafted in the first round (6th overall) in the 2022 CFL Global Draft by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, signaling a potential return to professional play after six years. Punter (American Football)
A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snap (gridiron football), snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then Punt (gridiron football), punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they forward pass, throw or rush (gridiron football), run the football instead of punting. Ryan Fitzpatrick
Ryan Joseph Fitzpatrick (born November 24, 1982) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. During his career, Fitzpatrick started at quarterback for nine different teams, the most in league history. He is also the only NFL player to have a passing and rushing touchdown with eight different teams. Fitzpatrick played college football at Harvard, where he was the school's first quarterback to have over 1,000 rushing yards, and was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL Draft. His longest stint was with the Buffalo Bills for four seasons, while his only two winning seasons were with the 2015 New York Jets and the 2020 Miami Dolphins. 2022 CFL Global Draft
The 2022 CFL Global Draft was a selection of non-Canadian and non-American players by Canadian Football League (CFL) teams that took place on May 3, 2022. It was the second CFL Draft that pools all of the global players together after previously having separate drafts for Mexican players and European players in 2019. 27 players were chosen from among eligible players following the CFL Combine in March.
