Tom Forzani
Tom Forzani (born June 15, 1951) is a former Canadian football wide receiver for the CFL Calgary Stampeders. He played from 1973 to 1983 for the Stampeders. He is one of three Forzani brothers to play for their hometown Stampeders, along with Joe and John. Forzani's son, Johnny Forzani, also played for the Stampeders. Tom was an all-star selection at wide receiver in 1973, '74 and '77. Tom lead the Stampeders in receiving in 5 season and had 50 or more catches in 7 seasons. He had at least one reception in 11 consecutive season, tied for the club lead with Allen Pitts. His No. 22 was retired by the Stampeders in 1984. Calgary Stampeders
The Calgary Stampeders are a professional Canadian football team based in Calgary, Alberta. The Stampeders compete in the West Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The club plays its home games at McMahon Stadium and are the third-oldest active franchise in the CFL. The Stampeders were officially founded in 1945, although there were clubs operating in Calgary since the 1890s. The Calgary Stampeders have won eight Grey Cups, most recently in 2018, from their appearances in 17 Grey Cup Championship games. John Forzani
John Forzani (April 5, 1947 – October 30, 2014) was a Canadian businessman, former Canadian Football League (CFL) player, and CFL team owner. He was the Chairman and co-founder of FGL Sports. Early life Born in Calgary, Alberta, he received a degree in business administration from Utah State University in 1971. In 1971, he joined the Calgary Stampeders as an offensive lineman and was part of the winning team of the 59th Grey Cup. He played football until 1976. Career In 1974, he opened a store called Forzani's Locker Room in Calgary. In 1994, he acquired Sports Experts Inc. for $20 million becoming Canada's largest sporting goods retailer. In 2001, the Retail Council of Canada recognized Forzani's work in leading FGL Sports (then known as the Forzani Group) to outstanding business success. Johnny Forzani
Johnny Forzani (born November 3, 1988) is a former professional football player for the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL. Forzani played college football at Washington State University, where he tied an NCAA record for the longest touchdown reception, 99 yards against Arizona State in 2009. Forzani was selected by the Calgary Stampeders in the 2010 CFL supplemental draft. He had previously played for their junior team, the Calgary Colts, in 2007, where he was named rookie of the year and most outstanding receiver after leading the league in yardage per catch.
