Tom E. Beer
Thomas E. Beer (born March 27, 1969) is a former National Football League (NFL) player. Playing career Beer played high school football at Elkton-Pigeon- Bay Port High School, a consolidated high school in the thumb area of Michigan. He went on to play college football for Saginaw Valley State University before transferring to Wayne State University. Beer was drafted in the seventh round of the 1994 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions. He played fullback in 1994, and linebacker in 1995 and 1996. During his time with the Lions, Beer was among the team leaders in special teams tackles. He started one game at strongside linebacker during the 1996 season. Beer's career ended following the 1996 season. Doctors had recommended retirement following a series of neurological testing. Bay Port is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Huron County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 477 at the 2010 census. As an unincorporated community, Bay Port has no legal autonomy of its own but does have its own post office with the 48720 ZIP Code. History Bay Port was settled in 1851 by Carl H. Heisterman. 1994 NFL Draft
The 1994 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 24–25, 1994, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season. This was the first draft in which the rounds were reduced to seven in total. The top prospects going into the draft included quarterbacks Trent Dilfer and Heath Shuler, running back Marshall Faulk, and defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson, with ''The New York Times'' stating that those four players "rank well above the others in this draft".
