Tom Cudworth
Tom Cudworth (born February 15, 1964) is an American screenwriter. Cudworth grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Bloomfield, New Jersey. After studying filmmaking at Montclair State College, Cudworth co-wrote his first film with Eric Bross, entitled '' Ten Benny'', in 1994. The film featured one of Adrien Brody's first leading roles, and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 1996. He is best known for his role as the young Josh Baskin in the 1988 film ''Big (film), Big'' and as David in the 1992 musical film ''Newsies.'' Independent Spirit Award
The Independent Spirit Awards (abbreviated Spirit Awards and originally known as the FINDIE or Friends of Independents Awards), founded in 1984, are awards dedicated to independent filmmakers. Winners were typically presented with acrylic glass pyramids containing suspended shoestrings representing the bare budgets of independent films. Since 2006, winners have received a metal trophy depicting a bird with its wings spread sitting atop of a pole with the shoestrings from the previous design wrapped around the pole. In 1986, the event was renamed the Independent Spirit Awards.
