Tom Clark (sports Executive)
Thomas Peter "Tom" Clark (b. April 29, 1969) is an American sports executive who has served as Commissioner of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) since 2011. Clark took over as commissioner following the retirement of Fred Schreyer, who had filled the dual role of PBA Commissioner and CEO since 2005. Early life Clark was born in Syracuse, New York and attended West Genesee High School in Camillus, New York. He then attended Buffalo State University where he received his Bachelor's degree in journalism. An avid bowler since early childhood, Clark says he chose Buffalo State specifically because it had a bowling program. He became a member of the school's bowling team and competed nationally. A commissioner (commonly abbreviated as Comm'r) is, in principle, a member of a commission or an individual who has been given a commission (official charge or authority to do something). In practice, the title of commissioner has evolved to include a variety of senior officials, often sitting on a specific commission. The University of Wisconsin–Whitewater (UW–Whitewater) is a public university in Whitewater, Wisconsin. It is part of the University of Wisconsin System. 2020 PBA Tour Season
The 2020 PBA Tour season, the 61st season of play for the U.S. Professional Bowlers Association's ten-pin bowling tour, began on January 14, 2020 with the PBA Hall of Fame Classic in Arlington, Texas, and concluded with the final round of the PBA Tour Playoffs on October 12 in Centreville, Virginia. 2020 is the first full PBA season under the new ownership of Bowlero Corporation, the world's largest operator of bowling centers. Bowlero's acquisition of the PBA was announced in September 2019. All PBA Tour events were suspended in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A limited return to competition began on June 6.
