Tokyo Dental College
is a private university in the city of Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1890, and it was chartered as a university in 1946. It is the only institution specializing exclusively in the teaching of dentistry in all of Japan. The College's course spans over six years in which students study ten months per year. A dental implant (also known as an endosseous implant or fixture) is a prosthesis that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, or facial prosthesis or to act as an orthodontic anchor.
