Atsuko Tokuda
is a retired badminton player of Japan who won Japanese national and international titles in the late 1970s and the 1980s. Her international victories included the All England Open Badminton Championships, All-England women's doubles with Mikiko Takada in 1978 and the Denmark Open (badminton), Danish (Denmark) Open women's doubles in 1981 and 1988 with Takada and with Yoshiko Yonekura, Yoshiko Yonekura Tago respectively. Though most of Tokuda's international success came in doubles, she won the Japanese National Badminton Championships, Japanese national singles title in 1978. She earned a bronze medal at the 1980 IBF World Championships in women's doubles with Yonekura. Jill Naomi Tokuda (born March 3, 1976) is an American businesswoman and politician serving as the U.S representative for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district since 2023. Tokuda represented the 24th district in the Hawaii Senate from 2006 to 2018. Background and education Tokuda was born and raised in Hawaii. She is a fourth-generation Japanese American. Tokuda earned her BA in international relations with a minor in Japanese studies from George Washington University. Kip Tokuda
Kip Yoshino Tokuda (October 8, 1946 – July 13, 2013) was an American social worker and politician. Background Tokuda was born in 1946 in Seattle, Washington. His parents George and Tamako (born Inouye) owned the Tokuda Pharmacy, which was located on Jackson Street at the time. He was raised in Seattle's Central District and on Beacon Hill neighborhoods. He initially attended Garfield High School, but transferred and graduated from Cleveland High School. Tokuda received both his bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Washington (1969, B.A. in sociology, master's degree in social work in 1973). He was director of children's and human services programs. He served in the Washington House of Representatives 1995-2003 as a Democrat. Kyuichi Tokuda
was a Japanese politician and first chairman of the Japanese Communist Party from 1945 until his death in 1953. Biography Kyuichi Tokuda was born in 1894 in Okinawa and became a lawyer following graduation from Nihon University in 1920. He joined the Japanese Communist Party in 1922 and became a member of its Central Committee. In 1922 Tokuda participated in the formation of the outlawed Japanese Communist Party. He would go on to visit the Soviet Union in both 1925 and 1927; and ran for the Labour-Farmer Party in the first regular election in 1928 (Fukuoka's 3rd district) but ended up being unsuccessful. In March 1928 he was arrested under the suspicion of violating the Peace Preservation Law, and would go on to spend 18 years in prison. From 1934 to 1940, he was imprisoned at Abashiri Prison. Shūsei Tokuda
was a Japanese writer. Life Tokuda was born in Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture. Coming from a family of the former feudal nobility, Tokuda began his literary life as a follower of the writer Ozaki Kōyō, who was four years his senior and had already established himself as a literary man in the late 1880s. Their relationship wasn't to last long, though, with Kōyō dying in 1903, after which Tokuda began to move from Kōyō's style of romanticism into a mixture of naturalism and the confessional known as "Shizen-shugi", an example of which is his 1908 novel ''Arajotai'' (新世帯), which dealt with the frustrations of a young working-class couple.
