Tokū, Tonga
Tokū is an uninhabited, volcanic island in Tonga. It is located in the very north of Vavaʻu group in the north of the country. It is about long and up to wide, yielding an area of . It is up to above sea level near its east coast. The closest island is Fonualei 19.7 km to the northwest. The island was inhabited in the 1830's, the inhabitants living on Tokū and having gardens on Fonualei. Following the 1846 eruption of Fonualei they relocated to 'Utulei in Vavaʻu. Tokuhime (1565–1615)
Tokuhime (督姫: 1565 – March 3, 1615) (''Hime'' means "princess", "lady") was a princess during the Sengoku and Edo periods of Japanese history. She was the second daughter of Tokugawa Ieyasu; her mother was Lady Nishigori (''西郡の方''), one of Ieyasu's concubines. Tokuhime was also known as Ofū, Tomiko, Harima-gozen, and Ryōshō-in. Life In 1582, the death of Oda Nobunaga in the Incident at Honnōji left Kai and Shinano Provinces without an overlord, and the struggle between Ieyasu and Hōjō Ujinao began. However, at that time, the two had nearly equal strength, and thinking that a serious war would weaken even the winner, they sought peace. As part of the accord, Ieyasu agreed to give Toku to Ujinao to be his wife. In 1590, Toyotomi Hideyoshi attacked the Hōjō stronghold at Odawara Castle in the Subjugation of Odawara, eradicating the Hōjō as a power. Toku (musician)
Toku (styled TOKU) is a Japanese jazz musician from Niigata Prefecture, Japan. In addition to being one of the few professional jazz vocalists and flugelhorn players in Japan, he is known for promoting jazz in Japan and bringing elements of the genre into J-pop through collaborations with other artists. He has worked with clammbon, Miki Imai, Maki Oguro, Yuji Ohno, Mariko Takahashi, Ken Hirai, DOUBLE, m-flo, and Exile. Early life Toku was born on February 20, 1973, in Niigata Prefecture. Under his father's influence, Toku grew up enjoying all kinds of music. During junior high school Toku began to learn to play the cornet, and in the following years he picked up the trumpet and flugel horn as well. In high school, Toku was in a cover band, playing mainly rock and pop songs, which he continued to be a part of into college.
