Together We Are Río Negro
Together We Are Río Negro (; JSRN) is a provincial political party in the Río Negro Province of Argentina. It was formed in 2015 as an electoral coalition to back the candidacy to the governorship of incumbent Alberto Weretilneck; it was later officially registered as a political party. Members of the original coalition formed in 2015 included the provincial chapters of the Broad Front, the Victory Party and the Faith Party, and provincial parties such as the Patagonic People's Movement. It currently holds a majority of seats in the provincial legislature and the incumbent governor, Arabela Carreras, belongs to JSRN. Alberto Weretilneck
Alberto Weretilneck (born 11 October 1962) is an Argentine politician currently serving as Senator for Río Negro Province. Previously, from 2012 to 2019, he was the province's governor. Biography Born in El Bolsón, Río Negro, he joined the center-left Broad Front, and was elected mayor of Cipolletti, Río Negro Province, in 2007. He became a supporter of Kirchnerism and was elected Vicegovernor in 2011; he was also named Vice President of the Broad Front on December 17, serving with Adriana Puiggrós. Weretilneck joined Justicialist Party nominee Carlos Soria in December 2010 as his running mate for the 2011 gubernatorial campaign; while they belonged to different parties, their coalition was endorsed by both Weretilneck's Broad Front and President Cristina Kirchner's Front for Victory (which headed the Justicialist Party). 2015 Argentine General Election
General elections were held in Argentina on 25 October 2015 to elect the President and National Congress, and followed primary elections which were held on 9 August 2015. A second round of voting between the two leading candidates took place on 22 November, after surprisingly close results forced a runoff. On the first runoff voting ever held for an Argentine Presidential Election, Buenos Aires Mayor Mauricio Macri narrowly defeated Front for Victory candidate and Buenos Aires Province Governor Daniel Scioli with 51.34% of votes. As of 2021, his vote count of nearly 13 million votes makes it the highest number of votes any candidate has ever received in Argentinian history. 2021 Argentine Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Argentina on 14 November 2021. Half of the seats in the Chamber of Deputies and a third of the seats in the Senate were renewed. The election had previously been scheduled to take place on 24 October 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina. Open, Simultaneous and Mandatory Primaries (PASO) were previously scheduled to take place on 8 August 2021, but took place on 12 September 2021, having also been postponed due to COVID-19. There were proposals, backed by the ruling Frente de Todos, to scrap the primaries altogether due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The proposals were opposed by the Juntos por el Cambio opposition. The Justicialist Party ( es, Partido Justicialista, ; abbr. PJ) is a major political party in Argentina, and the largest branch within Peronism. Luis Di Giacomo (born 29 April 1954) is an Argentina, Argentine psychiatrist and politician, currently serving as a Argentine Chamber of Deputies, National Deputy elected in Río Negro Province, Río Negro. A member of the regionalist Together We Are Río Negro party, Di Giacomo was elected in 2019 Argentine general election, 2019 and currently sits in (and presides) the Provincias Unidas Parliamentary group, inter-bloc.
