"Together Forever" is a song recorded by English singer Rick Astley and released as the fourth single from his debut album ''Whenever You Need Somebody''. It reached number 2 in the United Kingdom, behind ''Neighbours'' star and fellow Stock Aitken Waterman artist Kylie Minogue's debut single "I Should Be So Lucky". The song reached number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on 18 June 1988, becoming Astley's second and final US chart-topper, and also topped the charts in Canada, Ireland and Spain. It also peaked at number 5 in Germany and Italy and within the top 10 in Austria and Iceland. The song uses a similar chord structure and melody to Astley's debut single "Never Gonna Give You Up" (like most songs written and produced by Stock/Aitken/Waterman at the time), and has occasionally been used as an alternate Rickroll song. Richard Paul Astley (born 6 February 1966) is an English singer, songwriter and radio personality, who has been active in music for several decades. He gained worldwide fame in the 1980s, having multiple hits including his signature song "Never Gonna Give You Up", " Together Forever" and "Whenever You Need Somebody", and returned to music full-time in the 2000s after a 6-year hiatus. Outside his music career, Astley has occasionally worked as a radio DJ and a podcaster. Born and raised in Lancashire, Astley became a musician after leaving school, as the drummer for the soul band FBI. The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market. A new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by the Irish Recorded Music Association on Friday at noon.
