Jane (German Band)
Jane is a German progressive rock Krautrock band, that was formed in October 1970 in Hanover, Germany. Band history Playing a melodious synthesis of symphonic hard rock, that has occasionally been compared to Pink Floyd, Hanover Krautrockers Jane can trace their origins back to the late sixties psychedelic band ''The J.P.s'' (Justice of Peace). Releasing a single "Save Me"/"War" in 1968, the band featured future Jane members Peter Panka on vocals, Klaus Hess on bass and Werner Nadolny on saxophone. By late 1970 ''The J.P.s'' had dissolved and regrouped as Jane with Panka on vocals and drums, Hess switching to guitar and Nadolny assuming keyboards. Charly Maucher joined on bass and power vocalist Bernd Pulst completed the band in April 1971 and their first LP ''Together'' was released on the Hamburg-based record label Brain Records in the spring of 1972. Brain Records
Brain was a Hamburg-based record label prominent in the 1970s releasing several important Krautrock records by bands such as Neu!, Cluster and Guru Guru. Many of its more prominent records are currently being reissued on CD by Repertoire Records. In the middle of 1971, Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser's management style at Ohr caused two of his A&R men, Bruno Wendel and Günter Körber, to leave Ohr and set up their own record company, which they called Brain. Wendel & Korber brought Guru Guru with them from Ohr, and immediately signed Cluster, who had recorded one LP for Philips; they soon recorded and released ''Cluster II''. Brain was rapidly a success throughout West Germany and much of western Europe, although had little presence in the US. Metronome (label)
Warner Music Sweden AB (previously Metronome Records) is a Swedish record company and label, a subsidiary of Warner Music Group. Metronome Records was established in 1949 by Anders Burman, Lars Burman, and Börje Ekberg and was based in Stockholm. It concentrated on pop and jazz and had operations in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. The label signed Alice Babs, Bent Fabric, Sonya Hedenbratt, Nina & Frederik, Ola Magnell, Charlie Norman, Pugh Rogefeldt, Kalle Sändare, Bernt Staf, Owe Thörnqvist, and Cornelis Vreeswijk During 1949–65, Metronome's jazz catalogue also included Arne Domnérus, Rolf Ericson, Lars Gullin, Bengt Hallberg, Zoot Sims, and Toots Thielemans.
