Tofaş Spor Kulübü (''English: Tofaş Sports Club'') (more commonly known as Tofaş) is a professional basketball team that is based in Bursa, Turkey. Their home arena is the Tofaş Nilüfer Spor Salonu, with a capacity of 7,500 seats. The team is sponsored by Turkish car manufacturer Tofaş. The team competes in the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL). History Tofaş was founded in 1974. The team won the BSL in two consecutive seasons, in the 1998–99 and 1999–2000 seasons. The following year, however, the team withdrew from the league, for financial reasons. They returned to competition in the BSL in the 2003–04 season, but they were relegated down a league level the following year. Tofaş next played in the BSL, from the 2009–10 season, to the 2014–15 season. Basketbol Süper Ligi
The Basketball Super League ( tr, Basketbol Süper Ligi; BSL), also known as the Türkiye Sigorta Basketbol Süper Ligi for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's professional basketball division of the Turkish basketball league system. It replaced the former Turkish Basketball Championship (1946–1966) to become the Turkish Basketball League (TBL) until 2015 when it adopted its current name while the TBL name became exclusive to the second-tier and third-tier divisions. The BSL is administrated by the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) and is contested by 16 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated to the second-tier TBL and replaced by the top two teams of that division. Since the league's restructuring in 1966, 11 clubs have been crowned champions, with Anadolu Efes winning the title a record 15 times and Fenerbahçe 10 times. Vassilis Symtsak
Vassilis Symtsak (alternative spellings: Vasilis, Vasileios, Simtsak) ( el, Βασίλης Σίμτσακ; (born 3 March 1981) is a Greek professional basketball coach and former player. He last served as an assistant coach for Panathinaikos of the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague. Standing at 2.07 m (6 ft 9 in), he mainly played at the center position. Professional career Some of the clubs that Symtsak has played with in his pro career include: Doukas, Sporting, AEK Athens, PAOK, Trikala 2000, Kavala, Ikaros Kallitheas, and Panionios. In 2014, he signed with the Greek League club Aris. He then re-signed with Aris in 2015. Bursa Atatürk Sport Hall ( tr, Bursa Atatürk Spor Salonu) is a multi-purpose indoor sport venue located in the district of Altıparmak, Osmangazi in Bursa, Turkey. The hall, with a capacity for 3,000 people, was built in 1972. The 2017–18 Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL), for sponsorship reasons named Tahincioğlu Basketbol Süper Ligi, was the 52nd season of the top-tier professional basketball league in Turkey. Fenerbahçe won their 9th Basketbol Süper Ligi title and their 12th Turkish title overall by defeating Tofaş 4–1 in the finals. The 2017–18 EuroCup Basketball, also known as 7DAYS EuroCup for sponsorship reasons, season was the 16th season of Euroleague Basketball's European professional club basketball system, secondary level professional club basketball tournament. 1999–2000 FIBA EuroLeague
The 1999–2000 FIBA EuroLeague was the 43rd installment of the European top-tier level professional club competition for basketball clubs (now called simply EuroLeague). It began on September 23, 1999, and ended on April 20, 2000. The competition's Final Four was held at PAOK Sports Arena, Thessaloniki, with Panathinaikos defeating Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague Final, in front of 8,500 spectators. Professional basketball clubs in Europe can compete in a number of different competitions, including national leagues, regional (multi-national) leagues, and continental competitions.
