Todor Diev Stadium
Todor Diev Stadium ( bg, Стадион „Тодор Диев“, "Ухото") is a football stadium in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, located in the south urban area of Kichuk Parizh. The stadium opened in 1926 as a multi-sport venue of the domestic sport giant Botev Plovdiv. In 1949 the stadium was nationalized by the communist authorities and later same year was given to the recently established FC Spartak Plovdiv. The stadium was redeveloped in the period 1982–84. Presently the stadium holds 3,500 people and continues to be the home ground of Spartak. The stadium is named after Todor Diev, the greatest player in Spartak's history. The stadium's highest recorded attendance of 11,353 was in a Bulgarian Cup semi-final game against Blagoevgrad`s FC Pirin (0:0) on 27 April 1994. Blagoevgrad ( bg, Благоевград ) is а town in Southwestern Bulgaria, the administrative centre of Blagoevgrad Municipality and of Blagoevgrad Province. With a population of almost inhabitants, it is the economic and cultural centre of Southwestern Bulgaria. Loftus Road is a football stadium in White City, London, England, which is home to Queens Park Rangers. In 1981, it became the first stadium in British professional football to have an artificial pitch of Omniturf installed. This remained in use until 1988, after which a natural grass pitch was reintroduced. Futbolen klub Pirin ( bg, Футболен клуб „Пирин“), also known as Pirin Blagoevgrad is a Bulgarian football club based in Blagoevgrad, which currently competes in the First League, the top division of Bulgarian football. The Bulgarian Cup ( bg, Купа на България, Kupa na Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian annual football competition. It is the country's main cup competition and all officially registered Bulgarian football teams take part in it. The tournament's format is ''single-elimination'', with all matches being one-legged, except the semi-finals. The competition's winner gets the right to take part in the UEFA Europa Conference League. If the winner has already secured a place through the Bulgarian A Professional Football Group, the team that has come ''fourth'' in the championship substitutes it. PFC Spartak Plovdiv ( bg, ПФК Спартак Пловдив) is a Bulgarian football club based in Plovdiv, which currently plays in the third tier of Bulgarian football, the Third Amateur Football League (Bulgaria), Third League. Todor Diev
Todor Nedyalkov Diev ( bg, Тодор Недялков Диев) (28 January 1934 – 6 January 1995) was a Bulgarian footballer, part of the Bulgarian squad that won the bronze medals in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne. Career Diev began his career at the local Spartak Plovdiv. He made his professional debut in 1950 and since then he played in 308 matches and scored 146 goals. He had a brief period in Spartak Sofia in 1952–1953. He won the Bulgarian A Professional Football Group in 1963 and the Soviet Army Cup in 1958. Diev was crowned as championship top scorer for three times in 1955, 1962 and 1963. He is one of the legends of Spartak Plovdiv. He was recognized as all-time best player of the club.
