Todd McHardy
Todd McHardy (born 6 April 1977) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Originally from Keilor Park in the Essendon District Football League, McHardy played for the Western Jets in the under-18 TAC Cup competition. In conjunction with playing for the Jets, McHardy also represented the Victorian Metro team at the 1994 AFL Under 18 Championships. Known throughout his junior career as quick half-forward who could take a good mark, McHardy was drafted by Melbourne with the 76th selection in the 1994 National Draft, with Melbourne coach Neil Balme stating that the club had placed "an emphasis on speed" when considering whom to select in the 1994 Draft. Keilor Park Football Club
The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 nine in Division 2. Promotion and relegation between these divisions occurs, with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 being relegated at the end of each season. Clubs which win the Division 1 and Division 2 premierships are automatically promoted. Each men's team also fields a reserves side and an under-19 side that play a fixture mirroring that of the senior side. Hawthorn Football Club
The Hawthorn Football Club, nicknamed the Hawks, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Mulgrave, Victoria, that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was founded in 1902 in the inner-east suburb of Hawthorn, making it the youngest Victorian-based team in the AFL. The Williamstown Football Club, nicknamed The Seagulls, is an Australian rules football club based in Melbourne. The club currently competes in the men's and women's Victorian Football League and VFLW competitions. History The Williamstown Football Club was formed in 1864, making it one of the oldest football clubs in Australia. Williamstown's original colours were black and yellow. The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. These positions describe both the player's main role and by implication their location on the ground. As the game has evolved, tactics and team formations have changed, and the names of the positions and the duties involved have evolved too.
