Toby Williams is a British actor, writer and award-winning stand-up comedian performing both as himself and Dr George Ryegold. He is known for a number of appearances on television including regular or recurring roles on '' Vanity Fair'', ''Porters'' and ''Sex Education''. Career His stand-up accolades include Dave's 'Top 10 Funniest Jokes of the Fringe' 2012, winner of 'Best Show' at The Leicester Comedy Festival 2011, winner of a Three Weeks Editors' Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2011 (for 'The Fudge Shop') and a nomination for 'The Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality' for his debut Edinburgh 2009 show as George Ryegold, 'Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead'. James Olatokunbo Akingbola (born 7 April 1978) is an English television, theatre and film actor. Early life Jimmy Akingbola was born in London to parents of the Yoruba tribe who had emigrated from Nigeria. In 1996, Akingbola started at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in Wandsworth, London. He completed their three-year, full-time acting diploma. Theatre Akingbola started his career on stage at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre in ''The Nativity'' for Bill Alexander. He continued in a production of ''Baby Doll'' at the Royal National Theatre. Next he appeared in "Naked Justice" by playwright John Mortimer at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, opposite Leslie Phillips. ''Sorry, I Didn't Know'' is a British panel show broadcast on ITV, in which panelists answer questions about Black history. A pilot aired on ITV2 in 2016 and the first series of four episodes aired in October 2020, as part of Black History Month. The programme is hosted by Jimmy Akingbola and has team captains Chizzy Akudolu and Judi Love. A second series of five episodes began in October 2021. A third series premiered on 2 October 2022, with Akingbola, Akudolu, and new team captain Eddie Kadi. Format The host Jimmy Akingbola asks two teams questions relating to Black history. Rounds variously show panelists attempting to finish a famous quote, work out the name of a Black person from yes/no questions, identify whether a fact presented by the other team is true or false, work out who invented particular technologies and when or match descriptions of people to their faces.
