''To Live and Die in L.A. '' is the third studio album by English new wave band Wang Chung. It was released on 30 September 1985 by Geffen and is their first recording as a duo of lead vocalist Jack Hues and bassist Nick Feldman following the departure of drummer Darren Costin. The album served as the soundtrack for the 1985 film '' To Live and Die in L.A'', directed by William Friedkin. Instead of following up the success that ''Points on the Curve'' (1983) had provided them, the band switched gears to produce an original motion picture soundtrack. The switch allowed for them to experiment with different styles of music from the more conventional pop music found on their previous studio album. The album peaked at No. 85 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 but it failed to chart in their home country. Christopher Merrick Hughes (born 3 March 1954, London, England), also known as Merrick, is a British music producer, songwriter, and drummer for Adam and the Ants. Best known as producer of Tears for Fears' ''Songs from the Big Chair'', and as the co-writer of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", Hughes has a joint background as a musician, songwriter and producer. Steven Nicholas Jolley (born April 1950) and Tony Swain (born 20 January 1952, London, England) were a successful songwriting and record production duo in the United Kingdom in the early to mid-1980s, producing some of the top artists and songs of the era. Career The pair met in 1975 when Swain was working as a television cameraman on ''The Muppet Show'', where Jolley was sound technician and sometimes boom operator. "Wait" is a single by English new wave band Wang Chung, released as the fourth and final single from their 1983 studio album, ''Points on the Curve''. The single reached No. 87 on the UK Singles Chart. Aside from the early singles released as Huang Chung, "Wait" was the only single by Wang Chung that failed to chart on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100.
