A cliffhanger or cliffhanger ending is a plot device in fiction which features a main character in a precarious or difficult dilemma or confronted with a shocking revelation at the end of an episode or a film of serialized fiction. A cliffhanger is hoped to incentivize the audience to return to see how the characters resolve the dilemma. Some serials end with the caveat, "To Be Continued" or "The End?". In serial films and television series the following episode sometimes begins with a recap sequence. Cliffhangers were used as literary devices in several works of the Middle Ages with ''One Thousand and One Nights'' ending on a cliffhanger each night. Astro () is a South Korean boy band formed by Fantagio that debuted in 2016. The group is composed of six members: MJ, Jinjin, Cha Eun-woo, Moon Bin, Rocky and Yoon San-ha. They debuted with the single "Hide & Seek" from their debut EP '' Spring Up'', and were subsequently named by '' Billboard'' as one of the best new K-pop groups of 2016. Career Pre-debut The members of Astro were known as iTeen Boys while training as part of Fantagio iTeen, a rookie talent development program under the management agency Fantagio. ''To Be Continued'' ( lv, Turpinājums) is a 2018 Latvian documentary film directed by Ivars Seleckis. It was selected as the Latvian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Overview Over the course of two years, director Ivars Seleckis profiles seven children from all walks of life across Latvia. The film's international premiere was at 49th edition of Visions du Réel in 2018, one of the leading international documentary film festivals in Europe, held in Nyon, Switzerland.
