Tito Arévalo
Eustacio Ylagan (; March 29, 1911 – December 4, 2000), better known by his stage name Tito Arévalo, was a Filipino actor and musician. Personal life He grew up in Tondo, Manila. He was married to Guadalupe Francisco Ylagan, a woman who hails from Manila and they are the parents of Cora Ylagan Evangelista, Deanna Ylagan Rathbun and actor Robert Arevalo. He is the uncle of actors Jay Ilagan and Liberty Ilagan and was also related to Filipino director Gerardo de Leon. He made his film debut in 1934 in ''Dasalang Pilak''. Tondo, Manila
Tondo is a district located in Manila, Philippines. It is the largest in terms of area and population of Manila's sixteen districts, with a Census-estimated 631,313 people in 2015 and consists of two congressional districts. It is also the second most densely populated district in the city. Etymology The name Tondo can be derived from its Old Tagalog name, Tundun as inscribed in the Laguna Copperplate Inscription of 900 AD, the earliest native document found within the Philippines. Dutch anthropologist Antoon Postma, the first to translate the copperplate, believes the term ''tundun'' originated from the old Indian language Sanskrit, which was used alongside Old Malay as a language of politics and religion in the area at the time. ''The Moises Padilla Story'' is a 1961 Philippine bio-pic directed by Gerardo de León. The film was selected as the Philippine entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 34th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. The film is a biography of a Negros Occidental mayoral candidate who in 1951, was tortured and murdered by the private army of the provincial governor after he had refused to withdraw his candidacy. The film is still extant and has been restored in 4K resolution by the Philippine Film Archive and Central Digital Lab in 2022.
