Titarubi
Titarubi (born 1968) is an Indonesian artist. She is based in Yogyakarta and is one of Indonesia's most prominent contemporary artists. Biography Titarubi began making art while studying ceramics at Bandung Institute of Technology in 1988. She is heavily involved in social movements. She was very active in fight against the Bill against Pornography and Pornoaction, and produced ''Surrounding David'', a gigantic replica of Michelangelo's ''David'' with the body covered by red lace brocade. Titarubi created the Vagina Brocade in '' Opera Jawa'', symbolising both a vagina and a blazing fire. She is the director and founder of Indonesian Contemporary Art Network (iCAN). The Singapore Art Museum (Abbreviation: SAM) is an art museum is located in the Downtown Core district of Singapore. It is the first fully dedicated contemporary visual arts museum in Singapore with one of the world’s most important public collections by local, Southeast and East Asian artists. It collaborates with international art museums to co-curate contemporary art exhibitions. The Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Donnaregina, often known as Museo Madre, or Donnaregina Contemporary Art Museum, is a art museum, museum of contemporary art in Naples, in Campania in southern Italy. It is housed in the Palazzo Donnaregina, which was adapted for it by the Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira. The museum opened in 2005. The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery is a contemporary art museum at New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. The gallery receives core funding from the New Plymouth District Council. Govett-Brewster is recognised internationally for contemporary art. History The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery had its beginnings through a gift by New Plymouth resident Monica Brewster (nee Govett 1886–1973) who transferred £50,000 in stocks, funds, shares and securities to the City of New Plymouth in 1962.
