Titans (Canadian TV Series)
''Titans'' is a Canadian docudrama series produced for the 1981/82 season by CBC and Citytv (Titans Television Limited). The premise features staged interviews involving Patrick Watson and an actor who portrays a historical figure, conceptually similar to Watson's earlier series, ''Witness to Yesterday''. The program began as a summer series on CBC Television starting 3 July 1981. The initial run ended 25 September 1981. A second run of the series aired from 18 April to 22 August 1982. Patrick Watson (producer)
Patrick Watson (December 23, 1929July 4, 2022) was a Canadian broadcaster, television and radio interviewer and host, author, commentator, actor, television writer, producer, and director for five decades. Early life Born on December 23, 1929, in Toronto, Watson attended the University of Toronto and graduated with an MA. He began working on his doctorate at the University of Michigan, but withdrew in 1955 to focus on working for CBC Television. Career Watson's first broadcast, in 1943, was as a radio actor in the CBC's children's dramatic series ''The Kootenay Kid''. He first achieved national fame (and in some quarters, notoriety) as the co-producer and, with Laurier LaPierre, on-camera co-host of the CBC Television current affairs program ''This Hour Has Seven Days'' in the mid-1960s. Michel de Nostredame (December 1503 – July 1566), usually Latinised as Nostradamus, was a French astrologer, apothecary, physician, and reputed seer, who is best known for his book ''Les Prophéties'' (published in 1555), a collection of 942 poetic quatrains allegedly predicting future events. Nostradamus's father's family had originally been Jewish, but had converted to Catholic Christianity a generation before Nostradamus was born. He studied at the University of Avignon, but was forced to leave after just over a year when the university closed due to an outbreak of the plague. He worked as an apothecary for several years before entering the University of Montpellier, hoping to earn a doctorate, but was almost immediately expelled after his work as an apothecary (a manual trade forbidden by university statutes) was discovered. Stephen Valentine Patrick William Allen (December 26, 1921 – October 30, 2000) was an American television personality, radio personality, musician, composer, actor, comedian, and writer. In 1954, he achieved national fame as the co-creator and first host of ''The Tonight Show'', which was the first late-night television talk show. ''Meeting of Minds'' is a television series, created by Steve Allen, which aired on PBS from 1977 to 1981. The show featured guests who played significant roles in world history. Guests would interact with each other and host Steve Allen, discussing philosophy, religion, history, science, and many other topics. Origin Steve Allen originally created the concept for ''Meeting of Minds'' in the late 1950s. Cedric Smith (born 21 September 1943) is an English Canadian actor and musician. He played Alec King in the CBC television series '' Road to Avonlea'' and was the voice of Professor X in the ''X-Men'' TV series. Music Born in Bournemouth, Hampshire (now Dorset), England, Smith moved to Canada when he was about 10 years old. In 1961, he dropped out of high school to become a full-time folk singer.
