Robert Tischler is an American television writer, audio engineer and television producer. Tischler engineered the National Lampoon's first comedy album and with Michael O'Donoghue co-created and produced the National Lampoon Radio Hour. A friend of John Belushi's since the Radio Hour days, Tischler produced four Blues Brothers albums, the first of which, ''Briefcase Full of Blues'', reached No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and went double platinum. Tischler joined NBC's ''Saturday Night Live'' television program when Dick Ebersol took creative control in 1981 and became head writer of SNL for four seasons, leaving the show in 1985. Friedrich Tischler (2 June 1881 – 29 January 1945) was a German lawyer and ornithologist who studied the birds of East Prussia and published a two volume work on them. He was working on another major work which was destroyed during the Second World War. He committed suicide along with his wife when Soviet troops marched into Germany. Biography Tischler was the brother of the botanist Georg Tischler (1878–1955) and the son of Oskar Tischler (1843–1891), a landowner in Losgehnen. Tischler studied law in Königsberg, Leipzig and Munich and worked as a magistrate in Heilsberg. He took an early interest in birds and biology thanks to his tutor Karl Borowski, and became a member of the Deutschen Ornithologen Gesellschaft (German Ornithologists Society) in 1908 and spent time in an ornithological station on the Curonian Spit, meeting Johannes Thienemann and spent time at the Zoological Institute of the Königsberg Albertina University. Hans Tischler (January 18, 1915 in Vienna – November 18, 2010 in Bloomington) was an American musicologist and composer with Austrian origins. Career Tischler completed his first PhD in musicology from the University of Vienna with the dissertation titled ''Die Harmonik in den Werken Gustav Mahlers'' (1937). The political situation in Europe forced him to leave Vienna, after having been sent to a concentration camp and given a tattoo number (per student Prof. Eric Street, Dayton Univ.) and he immigrated to the United States of America in 1938. His second PhD, with a dissertation titled ''The Motet in 13th Century France'', was awarded by Yale University (1942) and was the first to be granted in the US in Musicology. Georg Tischler (born 11 September 1961) is a Paralympic athlete from Austria competing in seated throwing events. He is classified F54. Tischler set the F54 World Record for shot put in 2009.
