A-5 (paintball)
The A-5 is a semi-automatic pneumatic marker made by Tippmann for playing paintball. It is inspired by the look and feel of the Heckler & Koch MP5K The Heckler & Koch MP5 (german: Maschinenpistole 5) is a 9x19mm Parabellum submachine gun, developed in the 1960s by a team of engineers from the German small arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch. There are over 100 variants and clones of the MP5, ... submachine gun. It was first produced in 2002 in the United States. The A-5 utilizes a loading concept called the "Cyclone Feed System", which links the feeder sprocket to the air system for synchronized ball feed for reduced breakage and jamming. The Tippman A5 is the fully loaded model in the Tippman arsenal and costs more due to its built in features. Features The standard A5 is a semi-automatic, open bolt blow-back operated, sear-trigger paintball marker. Its inline blowback gas system can utilize both CO2 and HPA propellants. The standard marker includes a single-finger trigge ...

Paintball Equipment
Paintball is an equipment-intensive sport and in order to safely conduct a game, every player requires a marker with propellant to fire the paint, a mask to protect the eyes and face, paintballs, and a loader to hold them. To ensure safety off the playing field, a barrel sock or plug for the marker is also compulsory. Depending on type of play, additional equipment can include gloves, a pack designed to comfortably carry pods containing extra paintballs, and a squeegee or swab for cleaning out the barrel in case a paintball breaks. Players may also elect to wear padding or armor in order to reduce the impact of incoming paintballs. Markers A paintball marker is the primary piece of equipment used in paintball to tag an opposing player. An expanding gas (usually carbon dioxide or high-pressure air) forces a paintball through the barrel at a muzzle velocity of approximately . This velocity is sufficient for most paintballs to break upon impact at a distance, but not so fast a ...

Paintball Marker
A paintball marker, also known as a paintball gun, paint gun, or simply marker, is an air gun used in the shooting sport of paintball, and the main piece of paintball equipment. Paintball markers use compressed gas, such as carbon dioxide (CO2) or compressed air (HPA), to propel dye-filled gel capsules called paintballs through the barrel and quickly strike a target. The term "marker" is derived from its original use as a tool for forestry personnel to mark trees and ranchers to mark wandering cattle. The muzzle velocity of paintball markers is approximately ; most paintball fields restrict speed to 280–300 ft/s, and small indoor fields may further restrict it down to 250 ft/s. While greater muzzle velocity is possible, it has been ruled unsafe for use on most commercial paintball fields. Marker types Paintball markers fall into two main categories in terms of mechanism – mechanical and solenoid driven electropneumatic. Mechanically operated Mechanically op ...

Tippmann C-3
The Tippmann C-3 was the first propane powered paintball marker. It operates on a unique system Tippmann calls 'Propane Enhanced Performance'. The name 'C-3' may refer to the chemical formula of propane, C3H8. Operation While traditional Paintball markers rely upon the expansion of an inert compressed gas (namely or air) for Paintball propulsion, the C-3 utilises the energy released in propane combustion. This is a simplified explanation of the C-3's firing system: The C-3 operates on a closed bolt system. As the pump is pulled back by the shooter, the bolt moves back to allow one paintball to fall into the breech. As the shooter returns the pump to the forward position, completing the pumpstroke, propane is drawn into the combustion chamber. The bolt also moves forward, sealing the breech, and bringing the paintball into the firing position. After the pump stroke, the shooter pulls the trigger, causing a spark and igniting the propane. The resulting expansion of gases for ...

ACS Bolt
An ACS bolt (also known as an anti-chop system) is a special type of bolt used in some Paintball markers. The purpose of the ACS bolt is to reduce the amount of chopping (when a paintball is pinched by the forward motion of the bolt, causing it to break) by using a system that detects when there is an obstruction in the chamber and brings the bolt back.
