Tinbe-Rochin
The term ''Tinbe-Rochin'' refers to an arms and armor combination of a short spear (rochin) and a shield (tinbe). It is one of the least well-known Okinawan weapon systems. The ''tinbe'' can be made of various materials but is commonly found in vine, cane, metal, or turtle shell. The shield size is generally about 45 cm long and 38 cm wide. A shield is a piece of personal armour held in the hand, which may or may not be strapped to the wrist or forearm. Shields are used to intercept specific attacks, whether from close-ranged weaponry or projectiles such as arrows, by means of active blocks, as well as to provide passive protection by closing one or more lines of engagement during combat.
