Timothy S. Jordan
Timothy S. Jordan was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Biography Jordan was born on December 21, 1827, in Wayne County, Indiana. During the American Civil War, he served with the 12th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army. Political career Jordan was a member of the Assembly during the 1876 session. Additionally, he chaired the town board (similar to city council) of Union, Vernon County, Wisconsin. He was a Republican. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. Wayne County, Indiana
Wayne County is a county located in east central Indiana, United States, on the border with Ohio. As of the 2010 census, the population was 68,917. The county seat is Richmond. Wayne County comprises the Richmond, IN Micropolitan Statistical Area. Richmond hosts Earlham College, a small private liberal arts college. The 12th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Service The 12th Wisconsin was raised at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered into Federal service October 18, 1861. The regiment was mustered out on July 20, 1865, at Louisville, Kentucky.
