Timmy O'Sullivan
Timothy O'Sullivan (1939 – 2 July 1984) was an Irish Gaelic footballer. He played at club level with Castleislands Desmonds and Kingdom and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior football team. Career O'Sullivan first came to Gaelic football prominence as captain of the Castleisland District team that won the 1957 County Minor Championship. He first appeared on the inter-county scene with the Kerry junior team that won the Munster Junior Championship title in 1960. O'Sullivan quickly progressed to the senior team and made his debut in the 1960-61 league. He was at centre-forward when Kerry won the 1962 All-Ireland Championship title after a defeat of Roscommon in the final. O'Sullivan also won four consecutive Munster Championship titles and was involved in two National League title-winning teams. Castleisland Desmonds GAA
Castleisland Desmonds are a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Castleisland, County Kerry, Ireland. The club won its first County Championship in 1950. They won others in 1981, 1982 and 1984. They won the Munster Club Championship and All-Ireland Club Championship in 1985. Celebrity Bainisteoir In 2010, the club was selected to enter RTÉ's ''Celebrity Bainisteoir'' TV show. Their ''Celebrity Bainisteoir'' was Derek Burke from Crystal Swing. In the quarter finals, Castleisland played against Nuala Carey's Shannonbridge side from County Offaly. In the 2010 season of ''Celebrity Bainisteoir'', home advantage for each game bar the final was determined by an assault course challenge, which took place at the Irish Army's training camp in The Curragh, County Kildare. 1962 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final
The 1962 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final was the 75th All-Ireland Final and the deciding match of the 1962 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, an inter-county Gaelic football tournament for the top teams in Ireland. This marked the first occasion on which the final was televised. Pre-match Roscommon played Sligo in the 1962 Connacht final and were behind for much of the match. Sligo were blighted by a sudden string of injuries, missed a 50 while two points ahead in the final minute, and then gifted soon-to-be All-Ireland finalists Roscommon a goal, allowing them to progress at Sligo's expense in what is considered "one of the great football tragedies in Connacht". The 1964 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 78th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 26 April 1964 and ended on 27 September 1964. Dublin entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Meath in the Leinster final. It was Galway's second consecutive final, having lost to Dublin in the previous year's decider. The Tribesmen won their 5th All-Ireland title, beating Kerry by 5 points in the final, 0-15 to 0-10. The 1963 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 77th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 5 May 1963 and ended on 22 September 1963. As of 2018, it remains the last All Ireland Senior Football Championship season to be completed without any draws. Kilkenny dropped from the championship until 1975. Kerry entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final. The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC) ( ga, Craobh Shinsir Peile na hÉireann) is the premier competition in Gaelic football. An annual tournament organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), it is contested by the county teams in All-Ireland. The first tournament was held in 1887; it has been held every year since 1889. The Munster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship and shortened to Munster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
