Timmy Herrin
Tim Herrin (born October 8, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2023. Amateur career Herrin attended South Vigo High School in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he played football, basketball and baseball. After graduating in 2015, he enrolled at Indiana University where he played college baseball for three years for the Indiana Hoosiers. During the summer of 2017, he played in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Harwich Mariners. As a junior in 2018, he appeared in 17 games (making ten starts) and went 6–0 with a 3.22 ERA over innings. Professional career The Cleveland Indians selected Herrin in the 29th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. Herrin signed with the Indians and made his professional debut with the Arizona League Indians, going 0–1 with a 6.16 ERA over 19 innings. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. Harwich Mariners
The Harwich Mariners are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Harwich, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division. The Mariners play their home games at Whitehouse Field in the historic village of Harwich Center. Harwich has won two CCBL championships in the 21st century, most recently in 2011 by defeating the Falmouth Commodores two games to none to win the best of three championship series. The Lake County Captains are a Minor League Baseball team in Eastlake, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, that plays in the Midwest League as the High-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians.
