Adrian Timmis
Adrian Timmis (born 20 June 1964) is an English former professional racing cyclist. In 1981 he rode in the British National Track Championships. He then represented Britain in the team pursuit event at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Between 1986 and 1995, he was a professional cyclist. He rode the Tour de France in 1987, and competed in the international Paris-Nice race, Criterium International, Tour de Romandie, Liège–Bastogne–Liège, La Flèche Wallonne, Amstel Gold and the Het Volk. Towards the end of its professional career, he began mountain biking in 1989, while going forward to ride for Raleigh Cycles. He worked for the Linda McCartney Foods team and the British National team in the World Championships, Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games. Brian Timmis
Brian Mercer "Old Man of the Mountain" Timmis (December 5, 1899 – August 22, 1971) was a star senior Canadian football player in the Saskatchewan Rugby Football Union (SRFU) and Interprovincial Rugby Football Union (IRFU) for a combined 17 seasons, mainly for the Hamilton Tigers. He is a three-time Grey Cup champion as a player, having won with the Tigers in 1928, 1929, and 1932. He later coached the Hamilton Flying Wildcats, leading them to the 1943 Grey Cup championship. He was an inaugural member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1963 and was also inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1975. Brian Timmis Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario was named after him. Early life Timmis was born in Winnipeg and moved to Ottawa in 1910 where his father, a militia member, was stationed. Mercer Timmis
Mercer Edward Timmis (born January 19, 1994) is a former Canadian football running back in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted in the second round, 14th overall by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2016 CFL Draft and played three seasons for the team before finishing his career with the Toronto Argonauts. He played CIS football for the Calgary Dinos. Timmis graduated from the Haskayne School of Business in 2018 and has since returned to the University of Calgary to pursue a Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law. University career Timmis played CIS football for the Calgary Dinos from 2012 to 2015. In 2013, he broke the Canada West record for rushing touchdowns in a season (18), total touchdowns in a season (19), and was named the Canada West MVP. Peter Timmis
Peter John Timmis (30 July 1942 – 30 May 1988) was an English cricketer. Timmis was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium. He was born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Timmis made his debut for Staffordshire in the 1963 Minor Counties Championship against the Lancashire Second XI. Timmis played Minor counties cricket for Staffordshire from 1963 to 1979, which included 100 Minor Counties Championship matches. In 1971, he made his List A debut against Glamorgan in the Gillette Cup. He played 2 further List A matches for Staffordshire, against Dorset and Lancashire in the 1973 Gillette Cup. In his 3 matches, he took 3 wickets at an average of 25.33, with best figures of 2/9. Timmis made a single first-class appearance for the Minor Counties cricket team against the touring Indians in 1971. He didn't bat in this match, but did bowl 12 wicket-less overs.
