Timi Hansen
Timi Hansen (28 October 1958 – 4 November 2019) was a Danish bass player. He played in the Danish heavy metal band Mercyful Fate from 1981 to 1985 and from 1992 to 1993, and its successor project King Diamond from 1985 to 1987. He played with his fingers rather than with a guitar pick. Many have asked about how Hansen acquired "Grabber" as a nickname. Timi apparently used to play a Gibson G3 Grabber. A music store clerk began to call him "Grabber" and the name stuck. Aware that the meaning might be misunderstood, he slowly changed his stage name, Timi Grabber, back to his real name, Timi Hansen. Personal life On 1 August 2019, King Diamond announced that Mercyful Fate would play on Copenhell and some tour concerts, but Hansen would not attend and was replaced by Joey Vera. He explained through Livia Zita's account that he was fighting cancer. Hansen died on 4 November 2019, one week after his 61st birthday. Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. In 1968, three of the genre's most famous pioneers – Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple – were founded. Though they came to attract wide audiences, they were often derided by critics. Several American bands modified heavy metal into more accessible forms during the 1970s: the raw, sleazy sound and shock rock of Alice Cooper and Kiss (band), Kiss; the blues-rooted rock of Aerosmith; and the flashy guitar leads and party rock of Van Halen. During the mid-1970s, Judas Priest helped spur the genre's evolution by discarding much of its blues influence,Walser (1993), p. 6 while Motörhea ...

Kim Bendix Petersen (born 14 June 1956), better known by his stage name King Diamond, is a Danish rock musician. As a vocalist, he is known for his powerful and wide-ranging countertenor singing voice, in particular his far-reaching falsetto screams. He is the lead vocalist and lyricist for both Mercyful Fate and the eponymous King Diamond. He also plays keyboards and guitars on studio recordings but uses live shows to focus solely on his vocal performance. Diamond is renowned for his dark lyrical content and his story concepts. He is also known for his distinctive shock stage persona (in particular his black and white facepaint). He has been an influence for other rock and metal artists, including Metallica, Slayer and Cradle of Filth. Career Early days King Diamond's first heavy rock band was called Brainstorm (1974–76), with Jeanette Blum (Jean Blue) on vocals and bass, Michael Frohn (Mike West) on guitar and Jes Jacobsen (Jesse James) on drums. Abigail
Abigail () was an Israelite woman in the Hebrew Bible married to Nabal; she became married to the future King David after Nabal's death (1 Samuel ). Abigail was David's second wife, after Saul and Ahinoam's daughter, Michal, whom Saul later married to Palti, son of Laish when David went into hiding. She became the mother of one of David's sons, who is listed in the Book of Chronicles under the name ''Daniel'', in the Masoretic Text of the Books of Samuel as ''Chileab,'' and in the Septuagint text of 2 Samuel 3:3 as Δαλουια, ''Dalouia''. Her name is spelled Abigal in in the American Standard Version. Name Derived from the Hebrew word ''ab,'' "father", and the Hebrew root ''g-y-l'', "to rejoice," the name Abigail has a variety of possible meanings including "my father's joy" and "source of joy". Biblical narrative In 1 Samuel 25, Nabal demonstrates ingratitude towards David, the son of Jesse (from the tribe of Judah), and Abigail attempts to placate David, in order ...

The Dark Sides
''The Dark Sides'' is a compilation of King Diamond songs, released on 1 November 1988 through Roadrunner Records. This album contains five tracks (and an outro), released on previous albums, but are mostly unrelated in their stories (as King's albums were concept albums). Controversy The album cover featured King Diamond with face paint that resembled KISS bassist Gene Simmons' "Demon". Simmons claimed that King's face paint was copyright infringement and sued him. The lawsuit was eventually dropped when King changed his design. Track listing # "Halloween" – 4:14 (previously released on ''Fatal Portrait'') # "Them" – 1:58 (instrumental track, previously released on ''Them'') # "No Presents for Christmas" – 4:21 (previously released as the A-side of ''No Presents for Christmas'' single; later as a bonus track on the 2007 remastered version of ''Fatal Portrait'') # "Shrine" – 4:23 (previously released as the b-side of The Family Ghost single; later as a bonus track on the ...

Abigail (album)
''Abigail'' is the second album by Danish heavy metal band King Diamond, and the band's first concept album. It was released on 15 June 1987 via Roadrunner Records. There were several re-releases, first in 1997 with four bonus tracks, and then a 25th anniversary edition in 2005 with a bonus DVD. ''Abigail'' is the last album to feature guitarist Michael Denner and bassist Timi Hansen. Plot ''Abigail'' tells the story of a young couple, Miriam Natias and Jonathan La'Fey, who move into an old mansion that La'Fey inherited. It takes place in the summer of 1845. Upon their arrival they are warned by seven horsemen not to move into the house because if they do, "18 will become 9." They do not heed the warning and proceed to move into the mansion. During their first night, Jonathan meets with Count de La'Fey, the Family Ghost, who is a deceased relative. The ghost shows him a casket in which a corpse of a stillborn child, Abigail, rests. The ghost informs him that Miriam is carrying ...

Fatal Portrait
''Fatal Portrait'' is the debut album by Danish heavy metal band King Diamond. It was produced by Rune Hoyer and released in 1986 via Roadrunner Records. Guitarist Andy LaRocque joined the album recording sessions at the last minute, as the band's second guitarist at the time "wasn't working out" in the studio. As a result, it is the only King Diamond album which does not feature any writing credits from LaRocque. Recording a solo for "Dressed in White" functioned as his audition for joining the band. Along with ''The Spider's Lullabye'', it is one of the band's only albums which is not a whole concept album. ''Fatal Portrait'' has sold over 100,000 copies in North America alone. The title of the album comes from ''The Picture of Dorian Gray'' by Oscar Wilde. Wilde describes the painting as "the fatal portrait" several times throughout the novel. Plot Five songs on this album (first four and "Haunted") form a short story. Narrator sees a face in "every candle that eburns". This ...
