Ansar al-Sharia in Libya (ASL, ar, أنصار الشريعة بليبيا, English: Supporters of Islamic Law) was a Salafist Islamist militia and Al-Qaeda-aligned group that advocated the implementation of Sharia law across Libya. Carl Milton Levin (June 28, 1934 – July 29, 2021) was an American attorney and politician who served as a United States senator from Michigan from 1979 to 2015.
