Ghana College Of Physicians And Surgeons
The Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons is a National Postgraduate Medical College established to train specialist doctors in medicine, surgery and other related disciplines by an Act of parliament in 2003. History Prior to the founding of the college in 2003, there were no facilities available in Ghana to train specialist doctors. Doctors who required training in specific fields had to do so outside the country through the West African College of Physicians and the West African College of Surgeons which were both located in Nigeria. Jacob Plange-Rhule
Jacob Plange-Rhule, (27 July 1957 – 10 April 2020) was a Ghanaian physician, academic, and Rector of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons from October 2015 until his death in 2020. At the time of his death, Plange-Rhule was a professor and Head of the Department of Physiology of the School of Medical Sciences in Kumasi, Ghana. He was also a consulting physician at the Department of Medicine of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, where he founded the Hypertension and Renal Clinic and headed it for more than two decades. The Tema Motorway officially known as the N1 Highway is a highway that links Tema to Accra—capital of Ghana. It is the only motorway in Ghana. , is a major highway in Ghana that connects the capital city of Accra with the industrial city of Tema. History The highway was opened to traffic in November 1965 to link the harbour city of Tema to Accra. It was built under the administration of Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana. Its construction was fashioned after the Autobahn in Germany and was purposed to be the first in motorway systems that would link major towns and cities in Ghana. Wa is a town and the capital of Wa Municipal District and the Upper West Region of northern Ghana. Wa had a 2012 settlement population of 102,446. Upper West Region
The Upper West Region of Ghana is located in the north-western corner of Ghana and is bordered by Upper East region to the east, Northern region to the south, and Burkina Faso to the west and north. The 37 Military Hospital is a specialist hospital located in Accra, on the main road between the Kotoka International Airport and central Accra. It is the largest military hospital in the Republic of Ghana after the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
