ITV Digital Channels
ITV Digital Channels Limited (formerly known as Granada Sky Broadcasting) is a wholly owned subsidiary of British broadcaster ITV plc. It manages all of the company's television channels with the exception of ITV, which is part of the entire network. It was set up in 1996 and operated until 2004 as a joint venture between Granada plc and British Sky Broadcasting to launch a range of television channels broadcasting the Granada and LWT archives on the Sky satellite platform, as well as other digital platforms such as ITV Digital (closed on 1 May 2002), NTL and Telewest (both later merged to form Virgin Media). On 2 February 2004, Granada plc merged with Carlton Communications to form ITV plc, which fully purchased ITV Digital Channels in November of that year. ITV Select
ITV Select was a pay-per-view channel that was owned by Carlton Communications and Granada plc. The channel launched on 1 May 2000 as ONrequest and showed films, sport events and exclusive footage. As of July 2000, content was provided under a contract by Universal and Paramount Studios. The service was rebranded as ITV Select in 2001 and closed on 23 April 2002, shortly before the collapse of ITV Digital. The Guardian
''The Guardian'' is a British daily newspaper. It was founded in 1821 as ''The Manchester Guardian'', and changed its name in 1959. Along with its sister papers ''The Observer'' and ''The Guardian Weekly'', ''The Guardian'' is part of the Guardian Media Group, owned by the Scott Trust. The trust was created in 1936 to "secure the financial and editorial independence of ''The Guardian'' in perpetuity and to safeguard the journalistic freedom and liberal values of ''The Guardian'' free from commercial or political interference". The trust was converted into a limited company in 2008, with a constitution written so as to maintain for ''The Guardian'' the same protections as were built into the structure of the Scott Trust by its creators. The Independent
''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. The newspaper was controlled by Tony O'Reilly's Irish Independent News & Media from 1997 until it was sold to the Russian oligarch and former KGB Officer Alexander Lebedev in 2010. In 2017, Sultan Muhammad Abuljadayel bought a 30% stake in it. The daily edition was named National Newspaper of the Year at the 2004 British Press Awards. UEFA Champions League

UTV2
UTV2 was a television channel, owned by Ulster Television plc (now UTV Media). The channel was on digital terrestrial television and NTL cable in Northern Ireland. The channel launched on 28 June 1999 as ''TV You'', but was rebranded as ''UTV2'' in 2000. The programming consisted primarily of simulcasts with ITV2, as broadcast in England, Wales and the Scottish Borders, although they did also use archive programmes from UTV. Unusually, for a commercial station, UTV2 did not carry any advertising. This was presumably due to their failure to attract advertisers to UTV2, which was only receivable by a few thousand viewers. UTV2 closed on 22 January 2002 following a deal with ITV Digital and was replaced by ITV2. S2 (TV Channel)
S2 was a television station broadcast throughout the Scottish and Grampian ITV regions by SMG plc, the holder of the Scottish and Grampian region ITV franchises. S2, which aired on the digital terrestrial platform (branded ONdigital, at the time), was launched 30 April 1999 and closed just over two years later — as part of a deal with ITV Digital — on 27 July 2001. The channel was also broadcast on cable television services NTL and Telewest. At launch, S2 was on air between 4pm and 2am, seven days a week, with its target audience being 16- to 34-year-olds. ''S2 Live'', an entertainment show was S2's flagship show, and aired every night, presented by Sarah Heaney. The channel also repeated drama and documentary programmes, originally shown on Scottish/Grampian. S2 also broadcast sports coverage, including Scottish rugby. GMTV (an acronym for Good Morning Television), now legally known as ITV Breakfast Broadcasting Limited, was the name of the national Channel 3 breakfast television contractor/licensee, broadcasting in the United Kingdom from 1 January 1993 to 3 September 2010. ITV2
ITV2 is a British free-to-air television channel owned by ITV Digital Channels, a division of ITV plc. It was launched on 7 December 1998. For a number of years, it had the largest audience share after the five analogue terrestrial stations, a claim now held by its sister service ITV3 both of which are freely available to a majority of households. The channel is primarily aimed at the 16/18–34 age group, just like BBC Three, E4 and Sky Max and is known for American programming such as adult animations '' Family Guy,'' '' American Dad!'' and ''Bob's Burgers'', repeats of recently aired episodes of soap operas and other entertainment programming from ITV such as '' Coronation Street'' and ''Emmerdale''; 60-second entertainment news bulletin ''FYI Daily'', which airs in-between films; and original programming such as '' Celebrity Juice'' and '' Love Island''. Littlewoods
Littlewoods was a retail and football betting company founded in Liverpool, England, by John Moores in 1923. By the 1980s, it had grown to become the largest private company in Europe, but subsequently declined in the face of increased competition from rivals and the Internet. The original company – employing 4,000 people – was wound up in 2005; however, its brand name is retained by The Very Group as the online retailer Littlewoods.com. History The original company began in 1923 as a football pools (sports betting) company, known as Littlewoods Pools. After making a loss in the first season of operation, John Moores' original partners withdrew from the venture. Moores persisted with family assistance and by 1932 was in a position to expand the business into mail-order retailing. Carlton World
Carlton World was a British digital television channel, launched on 15 November 1998 and closed down on 1 February 2000. Its sister channels were Carlton Kids, Carlton Food Network, Carlton Select and Carlton Cinema. It was carried on ONdigital channel 34, and timeshared with Carlton Kids and RAW!. Programmes Carlton World broadcast factual and some entertainment programming produced or commissioned by Carlton and its merged companies, including Central Independent Television and Westcountry Television, although it was not unusual for programmes from other ITV network companies to be featured on the channel.
