Discovery Home & Health (UK & Ireland)
Discovery Home & Health was a British and Irish television satellite and cable channel. It was launched on 1 July 2000 as part of the Discovery Channel's bouquet of channels, as Discovery Health, following a similar format to the American channel of the same name. It was rebranded on 7 May 2005 to its current name, and relaunched as a female oriented lifestyle channel. This coincided with the relaunch of Discovery Home & Leisure as Discovery Real Time, a male oriented channel. On 30 April 2013, Discovery Home & Health received a new look, following the closure of Discovery Real Time and Discovery Travel & Living, and began broadcasting in widescreen, the last of Discovery's UK channels to do so. Some programming from the closed channels was transferred over to Home & Health. 2014 Schalke 04 Cup
The 2014 Schalke 04 Cup was a two-day pre-season men's football friendly tournament that was hosted by Bundesliga club Schalke 04 and was held at the Veltins-Arena, the club's home ground. 2014 was the inaugural competition of the Schalke 04 Cup. Four teams participated in it, hosts Schalke 04 of the Bundesliga, Newcastle United and West Ham United of the Premier League, and Malaga of La Liga. The first match of each day kicked off at 15:30 CET, with the second match of each day kicking off at 17:45 CET. Schalke 04 contested the second match on both days. Each match in the Schalke 04 Cup featured two matches of standard 2 x 45 minutes duration. The points were awarded according to a special system, with the winners of each game receiving the usual three points. TLC is a British pay television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. It is based on the American channel of the same name. It launched on 30 April 2013 at , replacing Discovery Real Time and DMAX +2. The original version of TLC was launched in 1994 and was subsequently renamed Discovery Home & Leisure and later Discovery Real Time as part of Discovery's catalogue of themed channels. Given that TLC was chasing a completely different demographic than the old TLC, Discovery treated it as a new channel launch rather than a return. Discovery Shed (Also simply known as Shed) was a TV channel in the United Kingdom from Discovery, Inc. which replaced Discovery Real Time Extra. The channel launched on 20 March 2009. The channel featured programming covering fishing, DIY, construction, cars, bikes, and outdoor extreme adventure. The network was superseded by the streaming platform Discovery+, which effectively carries all of its content, and it was discontinued with immediate effect on 6 January 2021, the same fate which befell Discovery Home & Health. DMAX (UK TV Channel)
DMAX is a British free-to-air male-oriented TV channel in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Discovery launched the channel in the UK and Ireland market on 8 January 2008 after its initial success in Germany. On 16 July 2015, DMAX moved from 144 to 167 on Sky, switching places with sister channel Quest. Following the re-combination of the Entertainment and Lifestyle & Culture sections of the Sky guide, Discovery relocated some of their stations on the platform, resulting in DMAX being pushed down the grid to allow Discovery Home & Health to be moved up. In the May 2018 reorganisation of the Sky main guide, DMAX moved to channel 178.
