''Time of Violence'' ( bg, Време на насилие, italic=yes) is a 1988 Bulgarian film based on the novel ''Time of Parting'' by Anton Donchev. It consists of two episodes with a combined length of 288 minutes. It premiered at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival where it was screened in the Un Certain Regard section. Bulgaria has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1970. The award is handed out annually by the United States-based Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature length motion picture produced outside the U.S. that contains primarily non-English language dialogue.
