Time In Turkey
Time in Turkey is given by UTC+03:00 year-round. This time is also called Turkey Time (''TRT''). The time at most is the same as in the Moscow Time and Arabia Standard Time zones. TRT was adopted by the Turkish Government on 8 September 2016. It was also in use in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus until it reverted to Eastern European Time (EET) in October 2017. During some seasons the TRT is also on the same time as Eastern European Time. History Until 1927, "Turkish time" (or ''alla turca'' time or ''ezânî'' time) referred to the system of setting the clocks to 12:00 midnight at sunset. Moscow Time (MSK, russian: моско́вское вре́мя) is the time zone for the city of Moscow, Russia, and most of western Russia, including Saint Petersburg. It is the second-westernmost of the eleven time zones of Russia. It has been set to UTC+03:00 without DST since 26 October 2014; before that date it had been set to UTC+04:00 year-round on 27 March 2011. Turkish Government
The Government of Turkey ( tr, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Hükûmeti) is the national government of Turkey. It is governed as a unitary state under a presidential representative democracy and a constitutional republic within a pluriform multi-party system. Eastern European Time
Eastern European Time (EET) is one of the names of UTC+02:00 time zone, 2 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. The zone uses daylight saving time, so that it uses UTC+03:00 during the summer. A number of African countries use UTC+02:00 all year long, where it is called Central Africa Time (CAT), although Egypt and Libya also use the term ''Eastern European Time''. ''Yeni Düzen'' or ''Yenidüzen'' is a daily newspaper published in Northern Cyprus. Its current editor in chief is Cenk Mutluyakalı. As of July 2014, it consisted of 24 pages and its daily circulation was 4700. The newspaper belongs to the Republican Turkish Party (CTP). It is under the United Media Group along with its sister television channel, Kanal Sim. Regarding its political point of view, Mutluyakalı has stated that while it is nominally owned by the CTP and is a "side" to current events, the newspapers follows an independent line and at times publishes material that is upsetting for the CTP. Eastern European Summer Time
Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) is one of the names of the UTC+03:00 time zone, which is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. It is used as a summer daylight saving time in some European and Middle Eastern countries, which makes it the same as Arabia Standard Time, East Africa Time, and Moscow Time. During the winter periods, Eastern European Time ( UTC+02:00) is used. Since 1996, European Summer Time has been applied from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. Daylight Saving Time In Turkey
Daylight saving time in Turkey was implemented throughout the country in the periods of 1940–1952, 1962–1965, 1973–1978, and 1985–2016. In 2016, Turkey scrapped winter time, by permanently staying in UTC+03:00 daylight saving time zone after 8 September. Whether daylight saving time is beneficial or not was a controversial issue. In this regard, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources had published various surveys and articles in order to make the subject known to the broader public and to form an opinion. With the decision of the Cabinet convened in 2013, the practice was terminated with the decision to turn the clocks back one hour on October 27, 2013.
