Time Flies (2013 Film)
''Time Flies'' (french: Nous avions) is a Canadian short drama film, directed by Stéphane Moukarzel and released in 2013. Depicting a Pakistani Canadian immigrant family in Montreal, the film centres on teenage son Akram's (Liridon Rashiti) decision to run off to live his own life independently of his family's strict rules. The film's cast also includes Minoo Gundevia, Deena Aziz, Avinas Gnanapragasam, Michelle Michael and Naseem Siddiqi. The film premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, and was named to TIFF's Canada's Top Ten list as one of the ten best Canadian short films of the year. Gabrielle Tougas-Fréchette is a Canadian film producer, currently associated with Voyelles Films. The history of cinema in Quebec started on June 27, 1896 when the Frenchman Louis Minier inaugurated the first movie projection in North America in a Montreal theatre room. However, it would have to wait until the 1960s before a genuine Quebec cinema industry would emerge. The first issue of the newspaper was published on 27 November 1986. Later on the newspaper developed various local issues with more targeted content. In 2013, the newspaper dropped from weekly to biweekly publication.
