Timbiriche Rock Show
''Timbiriche Rock Show'' is the sixth studio album by Mexican pop group Timbiriche. It was released in July 1985 and contains Spanish-language covers of notable pop hits during the 1980s, such as "99 Luftballons" ("Mi Globo Azul"), " Layin' It On The Line" (No Me Canso de Rockear) and " Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)" ("Teléfono"). With this album Timbiriche evolved into a new sound, aimed at teenagers. They stopped being a children's group and became a teen group. The songs on this album and the promotional videos shot for them were more commercially-oriented and more marketable than before. The album spawned several hit singles, including "Soy un Desastre", "Corro, Vuelo, Me Acelero", "Teléfono" and "Me Plantó". ''Timbiriche'' (also known for a brief time as ''La Banda Timbiriche'') is a Mexican pop music group. The group started as a children's group in 1981 and managed to evolve successfully into adulthood. Timbiriche is considered one of the most iconic Latin Pop acts of the 1980s and the early 1990s. It was the start of numerous figures in the Latin American entertainment world, including successful singers like Thalía, Paulina Rubio and Edith Márquez, as well as actors, composers and conductors. The discography of the band consists of twelve studio albums released between 1982 and 1993, in addition to two compilation albums and two discs recorded live. Bubblegum (also called bubblegum pop) is pop music in a catchy and upbeat style that is considered disposable, contrived, or marketed for children and adolescents. The term also refers to a rock and pop subgenre, originating in the United States in the late 1960s, that evolved from garage rock, novelty songs, and the Brill Building sound, and which was also defined by its target demographic of preteens and young teenagers. Fonovisa Records is an American Spanish language record label founded in 1984 by Guillermo Santiso as a subsidiary of Televisa. Its former name before being acquired by Televisa in 1984 was Profono Internacional, which was founded in 1978. Fonovisa mainly produces Mexican style music. It is well known for its signing with artists such as Los Tigres Del Norte, Los Bukis, Los Temerarios, Enrique Iglesias, Lucero and Thalía. In late 2002, Fonovisa was acquired from Televisa by the Univision Music Group. Fonovisa was owned by the Univision Music Group until May 2008 when it was bought by Universal Music Group. ''Timbiriche VII'' is the seventh studio album by Mexican pop group Timbiriche, released on June 29, 1987, by Fonovisa Records. This album marked the beginning of Thalía Sodi's participation in the group and in the same year she also appeared on the Televisa production, Quinceañera. The group consisted of Paulina Rubio, Alix Bauer, Mariana Garza, Eduardo Capetillo, Erik Rubin, Diego Schoening and Sodi, who replaced Sasha Sökol. "99 Luftballons" (german: link=no, Neunundneunzig Luftballons, "99 balloons") is a song by the German band Nena from their 1983 self-titled album. An English-language version titled "99 Red Balloons", with lyrics by Kevin McAlea, was also released on the album ''99 Luftballons'' in 1984 after widespread success of the original in Europe and Japan. "Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)" is a song by Scottish singer Sheena Easton, the first single released from her fourth album, 1983's '' Best Kept Secret''. In November 1984, Easton added "Telefono" to her Spanish album ''Todo Me Recuerda a Ti'' for the Latin markets. The song was nominated for a Grammy in 1983 for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The song was most successful in the United States, where it became Easton's fourth top 10 hit, peaking at number nine for two weeks in October and November 1983.
